It's just that you don't usually gush so I was surprised

Kathleen
there was a hint of over-exaggeration there but it was still pretty good to see.

It's the same that I would try to do those Livin On A Prayer beat box sounds with just a ordinary microphone!
you can't play a solo on a telecaster? what are you on? there was nothing wrong with the tone, nor the volume, so really your argument is pretty poor.

Well I thought that the problem was on the sound... You know the solo is pretty simple, it is the same as the intro and chorus if I remember right, so I don't think that's about the lack of talents. Jon has played much harder solos than that and he has been taking guitar lessons since little kid.

you can have guitar lessons for 40years but if you only ever play simple chord shapes you are gonna have no idea how to construct a decent solo. i daresay technically he isn't that bad but his improvisation and particularly his timing and phrasing of notes is way off. he's a good singer, a good frontman and a half-decent rhythm man, not a lead guitarist.

Please, don't ever write anything about guitar playing ever again.

It's a Telecaster, one of the best "solo guitars" in the world.

Why not?

Guitars don't have settings for solos. It's done with amplifiers, pedals and rack effects. And FYI, Richie plays a lot of songs with the same guitar. Solos and rhythms.

Weird voices? Pedal? Do you know anything about guitar playing? Solos are'nt "weird voices". Pedals won't help you play solos.

Well, Dry County solo was played with two guitars in the studio, first Stratocaster and the rest with a Les Paul, but he could've easily played that solo with a Tele as well.

Beat box? You mean talk box, right? And talk box doesn't have a microphone, it's just amplified by one, an ordinary microphone.
