The way I see it, anyone who thinks that these setlists should be "accepted" by the true fans, must be young or brand new to the band. How the hell you can see a set like the past couple, know what they've done in the past, and not bitch about it is very odd to me.

Honestly, if the band just shut the hell up and went and performed these lazy ass shows, I wouldn't say a word. But instead, they lie to the fans and tell them to expect surprises, then go out and perform 2 identical looking boring setlists that involve no imagination or creativity at all. That, to me, is bullshit and deserves to be bitched about.
Oh, I know, you defended HAND like it was your job. I remember that, but ever since LH you complain about everything. Like I just told Seb, the setlists from the HAND tour were far worse than this tour, comparing regions accordingly. However, since this is LH and you don't like it all the sudden it's "crappy" and "boring," even when they are playing more of their good old stuff compared to last tour. And honestly, do you think the band is saying that "stuff" for the hardcore fans? Do you honestly think they care about the hardcore fans, and what we want? You want to see a bad setlist, because I'd have no trouble writing one that, if they really wanted to, they could do.

Bullshit.

I defended HAND because

A.It was a good album.
B.They occassionally mixed the sets up a bit. The setlists were not as bad as this tour. The shows I saw, there was at least a bit of mixing things up. And a "surprise" was Wild Is The Wind or Dry County, not friggijn' Joey.

I like Lost Highway. It's not their best album, but I think it holds it's own.

Exactly my point - They clearly, don't give a shit as to what the hardcore fans want. You'd tihnk after 25 years of us buying their records and seeing their shows, that maybe they'd be a bit more creative in trying to give us a different show. Not only do they not do that, but then they make some bullshit comment about all these "surprises". As I said - THAT'S what pisses me off. Why do you think they make comments like that? They know full well their sets have been boring and uncreative. Clearly, Jon doesn't tihnk he has it in him anymore to sing Always, I Believe or anything else pre-2000. If that's the case - fine. But don't go bullshitting everybody in to buying a ticket when you clearly have no intention of doing anything different at all.

Stealing candy from a baby is funny. Reading "pathetic" posts isn't funny at all.

No you haven't. Please enlighten me why what I am saying on this board is pathetic. Please enlighten me with at least 5 examples, and give reasons why a certain post is pathetic.

And I'm talking about the main U.S. tour, but you don't remember that, do you?
That wouldn't be possible, I've only started posting since October last year, so I would like to see those dozen arguments of you. I can only remember one argument which was about the guitar solo of Any Other Day and all that, so if there are more in which you backed up your arguments of me being pathetic, please show me. I also wasn't posting on this board during the HAND tour, so it's pretty much impossible to read any reviews or opinions from me from the HAND tour. Now it certainly doesn't look like I'm the one with short term memories, am I?

And get off your soap box, it's embarrassing.
Exactly. You love the fact that they play one of their biggest hits constantly, and am excited about getting In These Arms. If you think this setlist is very good, considering what they could be playing, is it that hard to figure out that a large amount of people think this setlist is crap, exactly for the same reason? And that playing even a worse setlist would be a disgrace? Is it that hard to understand?

And fail to back it up. You tell me I'd bash a Bon Jovi show in which they'd play Dry County, yet in one review of the 2 shows I visited during the HAND tour, I went on and on of how amazing that show was. So you're obviously wrong about that.

Which pretty much means that you think you've got me figured me out. Yet in the first example you bring up in which you think what I should do when a certain situation is happening, i.e. Dry County in a show and me bashing the show, you go wrong, because obviously it didn't happen.

Something that obviously you would spend a large amount of time on, and something of which you obviously missed the sarcasm and prank part of. Also, saying that I need mental help makes you the one who starts one of those flamebait wars, not me. So far you've accused me of being pathetic and in need of mental help, yet I've said nothing like that to you. Which again, merely shows what sort of person you are, instead of what person you try to make me look like.

So, your Dry County example failed. Show me an example of why I am pathetic. I'm still here, still a fan, still follow the band after all this complaining. Would you do the same?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

The thing is, clearly, they KNOW that this is what the fans want. So why not back it up? They come out with a quote like this, then play the exact set list back to back, with almost no variation.
But here's the thing Dan, if we were able to go back and compare Milwaukee from every tour, you'd see that for the most part the set list is vanilla. Why, who knows. And you variation is what the hardcore fans want but how many of "us" are there at any given show. Detroit had a crowd of 20,000, let's say everyone that bought fanclub tickets is (200 sold) hardcore fan, give or take as there are a lot of new fans and some hardcore fans like yourself not in the fanclub, so yea, they'd want the deep album cut, but that's 1% of the audience. I go to overseas shows for a reason, to hear songs we just plain won't get. The band could change it up more but I think the vanilla setlists are a by product of the US audiences. If they weren't so God damn, flavor of the moment and had the attention span of a nat, we might get better set lists. I haven't seen a set list yet so I don't know what the audibles listed for these past three shows. I guess I'm just a realist and know that in the US, this is a "hits" band. I'd LOVE for them to throw us a bone and I'm hoping for it in Chicago this weekend, we'll see.

As far as the interviews, I've learned over the years to always take them with a grain of salt.

I actually want more LH songs in the set list as I just really like the cd a lot but I know everyone else would moan and groan over that, lol!
