Please, do not think that it was your ONLY chance. I had the same feeling when I missed the O2 shows (learnt too late about a chance of buying cheap tickets and cheap flights) and thought I lost my ONLY chance to ever see my favourite band live (never had this experience in my life). and it made me depressed. But later I thought that it does not need to be like that.
Pat, think that they WILL play again. From what I heard they are coming back to Europe next year. In understand that the pit tickets are indeed expensive and that the discount in o2 gave you a chance to afford them. But what if you start saving your money now? This is the thing I am doing right at the moment because I predict that when they come back they can be fairly expensive. And I also want to have a close seat (this is the point of all enjoyment of the show), even though I cannot afford it without saving some cash and taking some additional little jobs.
I know that what I write does not repair all the situation, does not do away with all that injustice and cannot bring back the lost chance. But it is the only realistic line of action that you may undertake, I think. I know that better said than done!

But of course, no matter what we say, these guys who used your kindness and did not want to pay to you with the kindness are indeed selfish! Shame on them!
