I know that what happened to you cannot be helped I think that in this situation the best way to make yourself feel a little little bit better is to imagine someone whom you know who goes through a much greater tragedy and would be happy if his only problem was only the lost chance of a dream show.
You know, whenever such things happen to me and I cannot cope with them and I do know that they can't be helped, I think about my friend who had a car accident and for 10 years by now has not been able to get up from wheelchair. The only thing she can do is to move the palm of her right hand When I have ilonesses in the family, frustrated hopes, problems at work, lost chances never to be regained I always think that this women would be still happy were she in my shoes.

I do not know, but maybe this way of thinking would help.
