Mike, it's a FACT that the pit would be there with or without the fan club. Why? Cause it's not there for the fan club (or for the Gold Tickets), it's there for SECURITY REASONS. Bon Jovi as a band and as a business are committed to keeping their concerts as safe as possible, and having the double-barricaded area known as "the pit" in front of the stage at General Admission shows is one of those things they do to try and keep their concerts safe.

Remember the Roskilde Festival a few years back? Bon Jovi would NEVER want that to happen at their shows, so they try to take off some of the GA crowd pressure by using the double-barricaded area right in front of the stage. THAT is the main reason for the entire existence of the pit, not the fan club or the Gold Tickets. Ask the Oompas if you don't believe me.

By the looks of it, though, I might not be going to any of the UK gigs, with or without fan club arrangements. Ticketmaster is screwing up so royally with my tickets that it's quite likely that I won't get them on time, not even if they were couriered with FedEx or UPS from Finland right back to the UK. And box office collection is NOT an option, according to "three different supervisors" at TM (or so the girl on the Customer Service line said, anyway), no matter how many Letters of Authorisation I would have with me.

Yeah, possibly all customers in the UK... But there's no mention about the foreign customers, even though it takes several days for the mail to reach for example Finland from the UK. And I just spoke to two different TM Customer Service operators today, and they told me that my tickets (and Taija's and Laura's tickets) hadn't even been printed yet, let alone posted. Plus they also said that they can't even promise that all the tickets would be in Finland by the 19th June, which is the absolute latest date when the tics should be couriered to us via FedEx/UPS/some similar courier service so that they would still reach us on time for the Glasgow show. The 20th June is a holiday in Finland, as it's the Midsummer Eve, and no courier services are running on that day.

I'm trying VERY HARD not to fret about this, but as you can probably understand, it ain't easy. I'm leaving the country next Wednesday around 8 pm our time, and somehow I'm getting the feeling that I'm gonna have to leave for the tour without any of my UK tickets.

(And no, buying another round of tickets is not an option for me, I don't have that kind of money after all the travel & accommodation expences, etc.)

Sorry to burst the bubble but i'm sure Backstage knew what was going to happen regarding the sales of the tickets in the UK. Bon Jovi isnt the only show to use this Gold thing.

Quote:
they put up the "buy Gold Tickets" notice to make sure that as many fan club members as possible will be able to enjoy the fc privileges.
I'm sorry but if paying more for a ticket to be able to use my FC "privileges" is the case, i dont think i'll bother!

Quote:
And since they did tell us to buy Gold Tickets instead of the regular GA ones, they shouldn't have any kind of legal or even moral responsibility to offer fc benefits to members with regular GA tics.
Backstage FC have a legal/moral responsibilty with every paying member not just those who choose to pay an extra £15 for a Gold ticket!

Quote:
They told us to buy Gold, period. If some fans didn't believe that and got regular GA tics instead, they only have themselves to blame if the fan club can't offer them any privileges.
If fans didnt buy gold tickets, they should be able to still get hold of wristbands regardless. If backstage choose to give every Gold fanclub member a band but do not give anyone with a normal GA ticket a band, then it is a sad world we live in.

Quote:
I paid £10 more per ticket for each and every show than ppl who bought regular GA tics,
Yes i did that also but i wished i hadnt!

Quote:
and I did that because that's what Backstage told us to do.
At the end of the day, does your life revolve around backstage?! If they told you to put your hand in the fire would you?! I think not!

Quote:
It would definitely be in all Gold Ticket holder fan club members' best interest if they got the best perks this time, cause they've paid the biggest sums of £££s and $$$s for their tickets.
Yeah we've all bought into this shambles! The end of the day backstage and ticketmaster know there are fans out there who will pay more for a ticket and pay to be a fanclub member. The end of the day it all boils down to money and the sad money driven world we live in!

dont forget kiddies, members of the fan club are the uber fans, the rest of us dont matter / neither does our lowly opinion - purely because we dont want to waste, yes waste, $40 (whatever the **** that is) on reassuring ourselves we are a true fan by way of a magazine and a pretty bracelet

Yes wasting £25-£27 on 4 picture books of JBJ is a total waste of money. This particular fanclub does nothing for its European fans, only when the tour comes around, yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Whether you are in a FC doesnt or not doesnt label you a "true" fan. I disagree with quite alot of things that have been done reagrding this tour, this whole thing is a complete mess. If you have to be in the FC which also means you are this so called "true" fan, i wish i didnt have a part in it. Dont get me wrong but making money from fans isnt the way to go in any business whether it be sport or music.

Whether your a FC member or not everyone has a right to there opinion and have there say, its just the narrow minded people in this world who think that they are right everytime that spoil it for everyone else!

Most European fans join the fan club purely so that they have the privilidge of being up front and have early entrance at the concerts. What is so wrong with that?
I don't think anyone in this thread has said anything about being a true fan or a better fan than anyone else just because they are in the fanclub.
