Any thoughts?
I've seen the band play that song probably 10 times in concetr. When I saw them play it on the Crush Tour with Jon singing, it took on a whole new life. They did an extended version of it, and it was a highlight of the show. Nothing against Richie, but that's Jon's all the way.

if its a choice between richie singing Il be there 4 u or not siging a song at all id gladly want to see him do his rendition of it. The guy has a great voice. Ever since i 1st heard his backing vox in Wanted all thoses years ago on a bootleg i had i always wished to hear a complete song by him live. And the thing is many bon jovi fans actually strangley do not have richies solo albums and may not realise just how good he actually is.

I would really like to see Jon sing it live again. It is so great when Jon sings it, the emotion he brings to it is amazing.

Definately prefer Jon singing it with the scream, and Richie providing the powerful backing vocals.
Richie has said that IBTFY is one of his favourite Bon Jovi songs, so i guess he wants to carry on performing it. I would personally prefer Jon to sing IBTFY and Richie to perform one of his solo songs, but I think it'll continue the way it went in the Bounce tour.

Haha yeah i did think that too, but he attempts it. Comparing 80s versions I've seen and the example from the Crush tour, there's no comparison; the 80s performance had so much power.
Still, I prefer Jon singing it to Richie, though sometimes his voice can sound weak when performing it.
The only version I've seen of Richie was in Atlantic City promoting the box set, and he changed the solo etc. Though I like Richie's performance, I prefer his backing vocals to the song, with Jon on main vocals.

Then you weren't at Giants Stadium in July of 2001.

Yeah I've seen that, that was a good performance, an he nailed the scream the best I've seen since '96, but then again saying that Milton Keynes 2001 was terrible.
