He didn't leave in the middle, he left after the first leg.

It was between legs. Technically, is "in the middle" of a World Tour.

Tickets were put on sale and sold for shows through July, it was in the middle of the tour

He did the first 20 dates of a 102 date tour. No matter what way you look at it, that cannot be considered the middle.

If you really want to be technical - he left in the middle of what is considered one leg, just as there was a 2 weeks gap before dates.

He left before 20% of the tour had happened.
