Default Change of Venue

I think everybody, including myself, is hoping that it will be changed to Coker or the RDS but it would be very unfair to those who have seemingly booked out all the hotels in Naas.

i doubt very much that the venue will change considering the tickets have been on sale on backstage...

You can normally cancel hotels up until the day before you go anyways.
Its just so strange nothing has been posted anywhere. (except backstage)
Id love if it was changed to a more accessible place, but I doubt they will change at this stage.

Yeah...very interesting.
Pity theres nothing anywhere though, wonder who actually heard that announcement on radio that they were playing Croker. That was weeks ago now though.

We shall see!

I agree completely, but the band, their management, and the promoters bear no responsibility for anything other than the sale of concert tickets. By 'responsibility' I mean in the legal sense, by the way. If (as is possible) there is a change of venue, then it would certainly be morally wrong for Backstage to have sold tickets for a Punchestown show if they knew that the promoter was trying to secure a different venue. But, that begs all sorts of speculative questions that nobody on this forum could answer, such as:

1) Why the lack of a general sale, or even a general announcement confirming the date and the venue?
2) Do Backstage do what they're told by the band's management, therefore accepting something like concert information at face value?
3) If the promoter is perhaps negotiating with another venue, why not wait until this matter has been resolved conclusively before going public?
4) etc...

The fact that Backstage has announced and sold tickets for a Punchestown concert implies that this information is either correct, or that there's somehow been a catastrophic failure of communication somewhere in the chain of command that's led to Backstage jumping the gun. Correct me if I'm wrong, but presumably all the other shows that were listed by Backstage have since been officially confirmed and gone on general sale?

Ya i think all of them have except Ireland.
In regards the selling of tickets on backstage. They will not be posted to anybody and they will pick them up at the concert whether it be in Dublin or Kildare. So there is no actuall tickets as such yet.
I dont think it would bother to many people if it was moved to Croke park as there is only a hand full of hotels in and around punchestown anyway(usually only a booking is made and can be cancelled upto a day before)
The only reason i can think of that nothing is being confirmed is that Westlife tickets go on sale fri and I am just wondering is there a clause in the Westlife agreement that if they sell out the first show within a certain time will they get the second date,if not Bon Jovi take it.
That can be the only logical reason for the delay cause if they were def playing Punchestown there would be some kind of word on the radio or from either Aiken promotions or Mcd who usually co promote their gigs over here.
