The setlist, for Bon Jovi anyway, is the main part of a gig for me. I really enjoyed the 2 nights at Twickenham but Jon has even said himself he sees the same faces in the crowd every night and can't do a rigid setlist for every performance.

I cant complain about this tour, iv seen 7 shows and heard songs I never thought id hear live again.

And Faith. I don't listen to the song much anymore but I love it live. Those non-rare songs that you can just throw your arm into the air too in the chorus and stuff, they're the songs I wanna hear played. Rarities are ****ing awesome but I love hearing the always played stuff as well.

Yes, this is exactly how I felt when the concert ended on Saturday. Especially because it was the only one I was doing this tour - when I normally do between 12/13 per tour like the last two.

However it was still very especial given I was there with my friends, one of them from Canada, managed to see old ones and had my especial moments with Richie, acknowledging my banner and then the ones we hold during Wanted.

So all in all as someone said above, there are a few factors which make a show especial but for me the setlist plays a big role these days.

OMG, Faith was AWESOME live. And me and my mum were like "awwwwwww" when Jon was dancing. 'cause we could see it realllly well, as people in back of GC stopped putting their arms up and stuff, for some reason. Maybe they were tired - or not happy. Jon really can't dance, but it's the cutest thing ever to watch him try. :P Did you get the bit on the screen - when he was like going one side, then the other, and it kept switching it on the screens? I can't explain what I mean - but if you saw it you'll know what I mean. It was cool. And how cool was the lights for Bad Medicine?! And obviously Mr Smirk too.

Hell, I was made up through all of it.

Yeah I know what you mean, that was in Shout, that switching screen thing. And yeah, the screens for that were awesome And We Got It Going On And of course, yes the smirk sticking his lil tounge out.

See, the common songs make for the best screens

The funny thing is, if you compare the Twickenham setlists to ones from America 2 months ago they are damn good! Just that we've been spoiled a bit throughout the European leg I suppose. I do think that there was a lot of energy on Saturday especially, the GC went mad when they started I Believe, just a shame they didn't do Something To Believe In or Never Say Goodbye - that would have been a better final encore - but still, I enjoyed it and I bet most of the people there did too.

And 3) and 4) kinda overlap, cos obviously a rare song is pretty special

So yeah, IMO the setlist counts for about 25% - 30% of how good a show is. Which is a fair amount. Of course, I could just be overanalysing it, but I reckon for a really awesome show, all those four things have to be awesome
Yep, I agree with you Paul. If I categorize a show as GREAT, the 4 elements need to be there. I purposely go to shows all over just to get a variation with setlists, US, Canada and overseas. For the shows I've seen (32 this tour when MSG is done), there have been better set lists as far as variation then their were the last 3 tours.

Bad Medicine was absolutely fantastic on Saturday, best I've heard in a while - I was going nuts during it! As for the Smirks during HAND, just brilliant - glad I had my HAND cap to put on for the song, much to the amusement of some people near me!
