Set list is important but it's not the be all and end all. Perth had a fairly average, slightly rushed set but it was still the greatest night of my life and everyone I know who went (both casuals and diehards) loved it. (Of the two local critics who reviewed the show, one liked it, while the other hated it and slammed Jon for being disrespectful to Heath Ledger but that's another story).

But a strong set definitely makes an good performance better (and may make an ok performance reasonable). There are people (mostly bj.com, I can't comment on Backstage) who get offended if you dare to criticise the set, but to me, when you know what the band's capable of (even though I haven't physically been to all those shows) it is disappointing when you get a boring "bare minimum" set. I think most of us here feel the same way but may have varying definitions of that. To me, while Twickenham didn't exactly have the greatest sets of the tour, it was hardly bare minimum. Shat all over a lot of earlier sets in the tour! Obviously if you go to a lot of shows you'd naturally place more emphasis on the band playing stuff you really want to hear. Some of the condescension directed at Jade and a few others wasn't really necessary though. That said, the fact that it happened at all is proof of how much the band has raised the bar over the course of the tour.

I'm rambling now so I hope most of that made sense to somebody...

Yeah, i guess setlists do matter, but i had a fantastic time on friday and saturday and there wasnt a sea of rarities. But at the end of the day i had a blast and would have done if they were on autopilot

People on here seem to have a 2 minute memory. Are we forgetting, how much we wanted songs like bloody Dry County before? But now we're (well, not me, but some people) are saying "there was only 3 rarities" and stuff. Sigh.

What was it like going to 10 shows so close together? Did the set lists differ much on those shows?

Seeing Star Wars films 2 days in a row about as much as I can relate and that's a pretty rubbish comparison to be honest!

If Lucas wasn't so little I'd have gone to the 2 Twickenham shows on Friday and Saturday but I didn't feel right going out 2 nights in a row and leaving Denise on her own - maybe when Lucas is more than 7 weeks old!

Indeed - if George Lucas were a few inches taller I'd have done more shows for sure!! Damn him for being so little and limiting my shows to just the one
