Seeing Star Wars films 2 days in a row about as much as I can relate and that's a pretty rubbish comparison to be honest!

If Lucas wasn't so little I'd have gone to the 2 Twickenham shows on Friday and Saturday but I didn't feel right going out 2 nights in a row and leaving Denise on her own - maybe when Lucas is more than 7 weeks old!
Did you name Lucas after George?

I used to want a son called Obi-Wan but now that I'm a little bit older I'm thinking he might get teased too much if I did that.

Damn you! But wow, must be cool to think in some years when he's old enough he could be enjoying and apperciating Jovi shows with you.

Is it all about setlists?....I guess it might come down to expectations.
It's hard, I think, to 'debate' it...some people have only seen the band once or twice [like me]...others have seen them regularly [say 5-6 shows per tour] over several years...others have seen the band into the 100's of shows. Because I haven't seen them perform many times, I don't have that comparative perspective. I do see the point of view though, of those that have seen the band perform many, many times - particularly those who have seen, say with this tour, 6, 7, 8+ shows - if the band 'raise the bar' [especially when looking at the most recent previous tour], and you are present at shows when that bar got 'raised', I think it probably raises the expectation for following shows as well...even if you don't think about it consciously.

Likewise, for people who have only seen the band once or twice, there are expectations, but maybe more based on the 'rush' of actually going, actually being there, finally seeing the band live. I know when I saw the band the first time [March 2001, Melb], my expectations were more about the fact that at that time I was an FC member and that meant early entry, and that meant being near/up the front [and I learnt my lesson and NEVER again] - as for the band - hearing them play live for the first time was awesome, so the set list wasn't in my thoughts. When I saw then in Perth this year, yeah, I had some expectations [especially based on the reviews from friends who saw them in Melb/Sydney] - was I disappointed? If you had been able to show me the setlist for Perth's gig before the show, I probably would have said 'yeah, a bit'....but no, I/we weren't, because over half the songs we heard that night, we'd never heard live before anyway.

For me, it's the general atmosphere around you and the actual performance of the band, the interaction or connection they make, that makes the show something to really remember...but like I said at the start, my perspective is based on only seeing them twice, seven years apart.

Being a Star Wars nut I did want a Star Wars name but not a really obvious one. My step-brother suggested Lucas and we liked it but we wanted to call him Joe so thought Lucas for the middle name. Nearer the time we started to really like the idea of Lucas so swapped it with Joe which is now his middle name.

I can't wait - I was thinking that on Saturday. I'd love to take my Dad and Lucas - three generations at a Bon Jovi gig - awesome!

The shows until night 9, didn't vary that much but there were definite changes. Night 9 was when they played the entire LH cd so that was my favorite show of those ten. Night 1 was what I called the "rusty" night as Jon struggled a bit vocally and the band seemed not as cohesive but other than that I have no complaints about the ten shows.
