Not a chance they'd do that with the backing track they use on that song live.

A very nice idea though.

people are mentioning the days where richie used to run all over the stage, play with such passion etc. Back when they were hungry for their craft. but you can also argue that jon isn't the same anymore either. that energy of the past isn't as apparent anymore.

yeah, that enhances the songs up to a point but sometimes live oportunities like this just get lost. The possibilities but wither and die

having been to the last 3 shows, Richie has been playing fine. The only thing he has messed up so far (twice in a row might I add) is the bad medicine solo. Even Seb commented how he nailed lay your hands on me in edmonton as well as something for the pain, something he hasnt really done.

Aloha !

What I have noticed over the past 9 (not that I'm bragging) shows is that as soon as Richie plays a Gibson or a Fender his playing becomes very different. He played Keep The Faith on a Les Paul in Edmonton I think it was, and suddenly he started playing licks on the song I have never heard him play on the solo. The same goes for other songs. I do think his playing is lazy nowadays but I think there is a slight improvement compared to the Lost Highway tour.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Seb, is he still changing the guitars he uses on an almost nightly basis? At the end of the arena leg, there were a lot of songs for which he was using different guitars from one night to the next.

He certainly did on 7/9 at Giants. In particular, I was hoping he'd bring out the double-necked acoustic and he did. I'm also happy to report that there was no bloodshed.

Sorry, I didn't word that well. I don't mean from song to song during the course of one show. He always does that. I meant to ask if he's changing which guitar he uses for a particular song from one night to the next. At the end of the arena leg, there were a lot of songs that had a different guitar every night. Oh pffftt! I'm still not sure it's coming out right! LOL

I think I get it. So like one night, he would play a song with a Les Paul, and maybe the next night he would play the same song on a Gibson, and the next night maybe a Fender.
