Personally - I don't think anything should be sacred. If it's a record promotion tour at least some of the new tracks should be played but as far as I'm concerned that's it. I have probably been spoiled by Bruce who plays practically nothing of what's expected of him. It makes for an interesting show every time you go - and I have been going to Bruce shows for a long time. And you could say the same for him - what about the newbies who only want to hear Born in the USA or The River or ???
I say go to the damn show to hear what the band does live - it's all good and you just might hear and get to like something different. As an example - my husband didn't care for It's My Life when Crush came out. We went to a few Crush concerts and it still didn't do much for him. Then we went to the two Giants concerts in 2001 and BAM - it came alive for him (his words not mine).

Good point. Something more like Pearl Jam, I suppose? But even so, I'd want to hear WDOA everytime I see the band!!

KTF is the only one I'd feel any setlist would miss if taken off. This song has everything, it was a hit, good drums and bass, great guitar and vocals, great crowd interaction, a lot of room for some impro etc... it's just the best in there.

I don't think there need be a song in every set. I remember seeing some statistics of Bob Dylan's last tour - from about 78 shows the most played song (Knockin' On Heavens Door) was only played 30 or so times. I'd like to see Jovi do something like that.

Here writing a setlist for BJ and changing stuff up is as easy as hell. This works, just evenly spread the widely recognized songs in the set and fill it up with some lesser known rockers and throw in some songs or songs you never play and you got your rockconcert.

I guess they'll always play Prayer, Bad Name, Wanted, Medicine, Faith, IML on every show.

Songs like Raise your hands, born 2 b my baby and Sleep are stamples as well despite not being such a huge hits (except for born 2 be my baby that was a hit)

It's natural they play HAND on every show of the next tour because it's the lead song from the album they are promoting.

But as far as I 'm concerned, I wouldn't mind if they mix it up and chage all the time. As long as they like the songs they're playing and keep bringing something new, they are able to Rock the house.

If they didn't play wanted, but played one of the other biggest hits, I surely wound't care.

Wanted. Still very brilliant live... and it gives the whole show a rock feeling. Wanted is rock to me.

I think Wanted and Prayer are musts at any show. I'm not sure a show would be complete without them. I'm kind of with Kathleen, nothing should be sacred, but if any two songs are then it's these two. I like that it seems that KTF is looking like the new closer.

Hmm, I heard a rumor from a usually reliable source that the band is going into rehearsals on the 23rd of this month for a week. For this band that's a huge amount of time so maybe, just maybe, there is a pretty big shakeup in the setlist coming??

I would want to hear Wanted no matter what. It just wouldn't be a Bon Jovi concert without it. It also would depend on what they replaced some of their staples with...if it's other album tracks that I've been waiting 20 years to hear live, well then it would be worth it. If not, I'd rather hear Prayer again for the umpteenth time.

Prayer, Wanted, Bad Name, Bad Medicine, etc. will never be dropped from the set. Personally, I'd always keep Prayer and Wanted. No matter how many times I bitch and moan about 'same old setlists', I don't think a Bon Jovi show would be complete without these two songs. I wouldn't miss Bad Name, Bad Medicine or It's My Life; these songs get boring and could easily be replaced by different songs each night.
