OK, it's now April, and still no word on the summer plans. I've been holding out changing plans for my vacation ever since the rumors of a July 19-20 stint at Boston began.

Ditto - we have only made summer plans for early July since I figured that it was safe that early. We need dates damnit - I can't keep stuff open forever. I have already bought Bruce tickets for Giants at the end of July and I'm betting that there will be a conflict - and I'm gonna be pissed

Supposedly, the Fenway dates in Boston are off. Someone heard it on the news and posted it to Backstage. The only thing I could find on the web is this passage from the Boston Globe's website:

Bon Jovi out of lineup
Looks like Jon Bon Jovi won't be riding his steel horse this way after all. We're told the Jersey rocker, who was lined up to play at Fenway this summer, is officially out. So who'll carry on the concert series at the lyric little bandbox? How about James Taylor and Neil Diamond? That's the buzz at the moment, though no one will say it on the record. (To its credit, The Boston Courant has the news on its front page today.) No dates have been announced, but the Sox previously applied to the city for live-music permits on July 19 and 20. A fan favorite because his song "Sweet Caroline" is played at every Sox home game, Diamond is scheduled to tour Europe in May and June, but his website lists no dates in July. Sweet Baby James, meanwhile, has a gig in British Columbia July 19 and in Seattle July 21, but his schedule is open on July 20. Oddly, Taylor's assistant seemed surprised yesterday when we asked her if the Grammy winner will be singing in the shadow of the Green Monster this summer. "Not even sure what you're referring to," Ellyn Kusmin said in a text message. Hmm. Bruce Springsteen was the first to play Fenway in 2003, followed by Jimmy Buffett, the Rolling Stones, and Dave Matthews.

The only confirmed date at this point is Sunday, July 6, at Bayfest in Sarnia, Ontario - http://www.sarniabayfest.com/.

They had a backstage chat with Jon Bon Jovi and someone asked where they would be playing a show to close the U.S leg of the tour and if I remember correctly he replied
"the real question is, where do you guys want it..
a) fenway b) giants c) something else i cant rmbr"

Actually, the poll that Admin posted on Backstage was 1) one night at Giants Stadium, 2) Central Park or 3) multiple nights at the Garden. Option 3 is winning by a lot with almost 1000 people voting. Doesn't mean that's what will happen, of course.

There was another poll regarding Boston that Admin posted after Jon posed the question during the chat -- 1) Fenway or 2) an arena. Option 2 is winning that one. There was a lot of talk about how Fenway is a really bad place for a concert.

I think it would suck not to have a Giants Stadium show at the close of the tour. Giants Stadium is the ultimate concert experience in my opinion.

And I certainly hope his decision won't be based on a poll over at Backstage.

I really hope they come back to the U.S. for me i don't see why they can't just extend the europe tour for a few more shows and then come back to the U.S. Since the boston days were rumored the places he said in the interview were fenway park giants and soldier field... as for the Giants, multiple nights at msg, or Central park.. I would like to see them do a show at each place. Do Msg then Central park(they have never played here before) and then end it at Giants...
