was performing with a guest guitarist, so of course he shared the leads. And having considerably less experience, of course Orianthi behaved as a proper guest and didn't even try to upstage him. But having said that, she did seem to be burying her face beneath her hat and hair. And I think I know why.
I've checked out her other stuff on Youtube, and it vacillates between
sex-sells pop tarting and bidding to be
THE breakthrough rock guitar goddess, in which case hiding her face becomes a tactic ("Don't look at me--LISTEN to me!"). Well, Orianthi should not count on getting too far by trying to be mistaken for Avril Lavigne one day and for Steve Vai the next, especially now that she's pushing thirty. Pick a side and
commit to it, dear -- or you'll end up depending on handouts from the Richie Samboras and Alice Coopers permanently.
