Less than ten years ago Jon would've sounded stellar on this song, but here (as well as everywhere else nowadays) his voice lacks all the qualities it used to have - range, power, resonance, energy. It sounds like an average karaoke performance and the playing of the band has no real oomph, either.
If I'm honest I actually quite enjoyed that. My worry is that if he's singing from his throat and shouting he's only doing more damage. Any heavy rock /metal singer will tell you how bad it can get with poor technique

What has this man (and band) become? This has to be the lowest point of Jon's career. For all of his talk that he'd never become 'fat Elvis', Jon sure is doing a good job of destroying his legacy.

The audibles are better than anything on the setlist.

I refuse to live in a world where SLEEP is considered better than a setlist song. That one has gotta go along with the LH double track.

Dude. You've really become intolerant of differing opinions lately.

Sleep is way overplayed, but I'd rather Sleep along with the other three audibles than the entire set that was played.

My opinion. No one has to agree. Good grief.

That fat Elvis quote is such a joke. Jon is long past that point. Elvis looked fat and did not move much on stage, but his voice was very much in tact until the end.

Oy, I didn't mean for it to come off as rude. Of course we can differ, all good! My tone was meant as playful, I promise.

I think the idea behind this cruise is a good one.
But it just comes too late. If Jon and the band did this in the late 90s or even between 2009-2011 it would have been an awesome ride. But nowadays there's no coin in the jukebox left (to use Jon's words *g*).

It's the same with their MTV Unplugged or the induction into the HoF. A couple of years earlier and both events would have been great.

Here's Joey from April 13:

Even on this song, Jon is struggling really hard - at times he even has to jump to release his muscle tension...
