What version do you actually mean? Is it the live b-side version where the talking of Jon (before Richie's solo) starts with 'Everyday a man wakes up...'. Because he ends that one with the scream you mentioned - but no swearing. I've got a transcription somewhere on a old back-up of the live version from the single. If that's the one you're looking for, I can look it up for you.

I got the version you mention Sara, but I also
have a version now from Wembley, but I can't
hear Jon swearing anywhere. Nice intro though.

got the version they played @ count basie theater 1993 (christmas concert) here's what i understand (sorry for possible mistakes): every day a man wakes up and every day a man (tries???) to pour himself a cup of coffe, take (doesn't speak the 's') a good long hard look in the mirror; sometimes what he looks at he doesn't like it- sometimes what he sees it makes him angry and sometimes what he sees makes him sad- sometimes what he sees is himself- and that dissapointment just (gets any (maybe clearer)???) and it just (rips??) at you little by little, piece by piece; and sometimes you can just lay down, you can just play the game, you can just take the cards that they deal you- you can just pretend it's all over- BUT NOT MEEEEEEEEEE

Default Dry county rang

I remember it very well-and find it. It's on the 2 Single CD Set of "Dry County" what we had here in Germany (don't know if it was released in other countries).
Yes, it's the one from Count Basie Theater, Red Bank, New Jersey on 20th December 1993.
I love it and can't stop to listen to it. It's also a song I wish I can hear it live again-hopefully next year on tour.

I just found the transcript I have. It's with JB's speech from the beginning of the song as well:

----

A couple a years ago we took a little bit of a break, we got off the road, we stopped making records, I think for a while we stopped living.
All we had to do is runaway from something that we loved to see if we liked it anymore.
And after living for - I guess at the time about 7 almost 8 years out of a suitcase we had to go home and see what those four letter meant.
When you sit by yourself, when you got a stare in that mirror, you got to see if what you did makes any sense to you, because if you're not happy you're in a hell of a lot going, you know.
All the money in the world don't mean nothing, all the succes in the world means even less.
And so we all went our seperate ways and we went to go and find something and I got on a motorcycle and I went out and I went to go see the country.
What I found, I liked a lot. What I found was a lot of people who were searching for the same kinds of things I was, so it didn't get me down, but it sort of fueled the whole process.
And if you let me I'll take you on the back of my bike, we'll take you to a place, that place is called Dry County.

----

Every day a man wakes up and every day a man who has to pour himself a cup of coffee take a good long hard look in the mirror.
And sometimes what he looks at he doesn't like and sometimes what he sees it makes him angry, sometimes what he sees makes him sad.
Sometimes what he sees is himself and that disappointment just gets into you, it just rips at you, little by little, piece by piece.
And sometimes you can just laydown, you can just play the game, you can just take the cards that they deal ya, you can just pretend that it's all over...
BUT NOT ME!

----

Don't know if that was what you were looking for. There's no swearing in it - but I just love these two speeches, so there's no harm in posting them anyway!

That's actually the version that Peter had posted for download a little while ago at DRY COUNTY. He had that, Always, and These Days. All were GREAT versions of the songs. The version of Dry County is Amazing.
