The real question is, would he use Phil X on a solo tour and even album? He did get a SWW medallion.

Have we've seen the last of mr x?

Look at the setlist, not a single ballad, why would he do Not Running Anymore? It's a good time party band, I wouldn't read to much into why he didn't do that one.

Plus they're all up tempo songs that, mostly, everyone knows. Songs from DA are the complete opposite end of the spectrum mood wise and I don't think they'd work. That being said he could easily swap out the BJ songs no one knows with songs they do.

Agree!

And we kinda made that determination. This type of show with the KOS is perfect for such an event.

If Jon was to do a real solo album with tour, he'd use real musicians and sing more appropriate songs. I'm sure Bobby and Lorenza would be part of that band. Heck, Hugh would be there too.

I think we all want Jon out of this comfort zone and to see some stuff outside the box. Aka a real solo show.

In my opinion, Jon Bon Jovi and The Kings of Suburbia are boring and dated, the only that seems happy is Bobby, he enjoy all those covers.

This was a private corporate gig. The company hired him to entertain their employees with familiar songs. I agree Blaze of Glory would've been a nice edition to the setlist but no other solo song would go over well.

This is a ridiculous question. First of all he would never sing a BJ song solo that he didn't co-write. Secondly just because he quit the tour (or the band) doesn't negate his ownership or contribution to the songs becoming hits. Too bad if BJ fans are bitter that he quit. The songs are still his.

They both have as much right to play any Bon Jovi songs as thats what the fans would expect.
Exactly. So why are you contradicting yourself?

I like the band (I like the back up singers/horns players). I love that they open with St Pepper. I think about 1/2 their covers are perfect choices... even Baba, even though I wish Jon would sing it (and could sing it half that good). But like others have said, it still feels too much like a Bon Jovi show.

I would of course remove Lost Highway, WWBTF, and BWC... as well as Bad Name while I was at it. Add Bad Medicine (their ultimate party song - not too challenging vocally), Keep the Faith with Sympathy (mix it up/use the horns), and IBTFY (again, slightly rearrange and use the horns -- or heaven forbid something really different like Midnight in Chelsea, Wild in the Streets, Blame it On the Love, Next 100 Years (again, easy to sing and horns), etc)

Bobby's actually perfect for this type of band but they still need a good, credible lead guitarist.

Again, a few of the covers are great choices, but the other 1/2 are not IMO. Pretty Woman is descent and OTR&R is great, but again it feels too much like recent BJ shows (the last thing I really want to see). I'd like to see more edge and less r&b (something he hasn't been able to pull off since the 90's). I'd personally love to see Door's "Touch Me", Beach Boy "Wouldn't it Be Nice" (while I'm wishing, "Good Vibrations"). Even, bring back Heroes.

Because on Twitter he made a determined point of ignoring everything BJ related and focusing on everything except the band. On the one hand, it was as if the band didn't exist to him, and on the other he was out there strumming Wanted and I'll Be There For You.

I wasn't debating ownership or making a contradiction, it was just making an observation that he went for a few months of almost of deliberately ignoring the fact that he had anything to do with the band but when it came to the crunch, that's what people want and expect him to perform. Of course he contributes as much- that was the whole problem was his spate of "#SamboraSundays" or whatever it was- he had no interest in the good things he has done in the band, of which there are many. He can come and do a whole setlist of BJ songs if he wants he's as much entitled to as Jon, I just wished that it was this attitude he had taken rather than shying away from what has made his career. Without Bon Jovi, he wouldn't be in the position to have his solo career/clothes company to the extent he does.

The matter is that in the end, Richie no longer endured more. In fact, I think, this could have happened in the lost highway tour, or in the extended tour of The circle / GH Tour. I think if Richie had not left the tour, Jon probably had lengthened the tour until the summer of 2014, and sometime in 2015, would return to plan another pop album with John Shanks to launch in 2016 and continue turning. So I can understand this aspect about Richie's decision. Now Jon stop, and will think in the situation.
