It looks as though Jon is much more comfortable on that stage compared to his performances on BWC Tour. Much more energised and refreshed, using the stage, interaction with the audience and band, vocals are decent enough.

It wouldn't surprise me if KoS becomes Jon's new focus with small theatres and Las Vegas style residences. Has he has enough of dragging the circus that is Bon Jovi around the world every couple of years?

In fact, I've just come back from some random Hard Rock Cafe gig and I swear, the band played 80% the same setlist as KOS and both their guitarist and their like 3 frontmen and one front woman were singing better than Jon Bon. But whatever, you were there so it must have been a better show. I was not so what do I know. Still, it makes me seriously question you're common sense. Uffff....
Yeah, I still don't get it either. Despite the gigs they've done they still don't sound like a true band. The horn section sounds thin, there's no true rhythm groove anywhere, the lead guitarist isn't able to play lead guitar but most of all the lead singer just isn't singing but instead breathing words half the time. It's not that his upper range is gone, his entire range is gone.

Now compare this to good pub bands and you'll laugh at what Jon comes up with. The rendition of Under Pressure is appaling, too many songs are sung so low that it sucks all the energy out and anything, this sounds like an average E Street cover band covering cover songs. When you're not even able to properly cover your own songs with another band you should reconsider performing in the first place.

Sebastiaan

The good old, overly critical Seb is back C'mon, his entire range is gone? Excuse me? This is the first decent-to-good vocal performance I've seen from Jon since fall of last year (with the odd exception here and there). I would've agreed with your assessment for the last few gigs of the KOS, but did you actually watch this one?

Yes, his entire range is gone. The only reason he's decent is because he skips every single slightly risky note to begin with. But he struggles with the supposedly higher notes in American Pie, yet the song doesn't have any high notes to begin with. Really every single time he needs to go higher than your average melody he's nasal and out of breath. I guess people have gotten so used to his regular average-ness that performances like these are now deemed decent?

And yes, I did watch parts of this one, and **** the "you can't judge a show from a youtube video" excuse. No one's using that one when someone posts a video of Keep The Faith performed in 1993 either.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I didn't use that excuse now, did I? All I'm saying is that this is a decent (or rather actually quite good) performance compared to the shows earlier this year or at the end of last year, where I was fearing that he indeed did lose all of his range. This one makes me hope that he could still perform like at the start/mid of the BWC tour, which actually is fine with me. If it's not with you (and I know it isn't) that's fine too, but to claim he lost all his range, when in fact it's just a few notes and it's mostly his nasality and all that's bothering you, is a little over the top

Something is off with the audio.

Use the fan videos to get a more accurate feel.

Stop Trying to come across as outrageous for the sake of attention seeking. Deal with it, Seb. It's the best and most comfortable Jon has been on stage since he jammed with Bruce for the Sandy appeal. Stop this cult of personality. It's boring and predictable

I don't think Seb's assessment is way off but he is failing to notice Jon's vocal improvement.

If 10 was Jon's worst hitting high notes, he moved up to an 8.

Now his middle range has really improved and what most of us are referring to. Listen to "Talk To Me" around 4:12 onward. Jon sounds amazing IMO.

You can't tell me that that wasn't smooth? And it really radiates being there live.

Now as far as one saying you can't judge by YouTube, they are more referring to the overall experience of the show. A lot gets drowned out between the crowd, the volume of musicians, etc. When you watch a video on YouTube, your focal point in 100% on Jon's vocal. Being there, is not the same. You people watch, sing along, look around. There was so much I didn't notice until I watch the videos on-line after the fact. And yes, it was clear that Jon can't hit high notes but I did notice improvement and really enjoyed his middle range. In addition, Jon was relaxed and sincere.

After watching past KOS shows on YouTube, my expectations were low but being there live was a totally different energy and experience. Great acoustics, crowd energy, alcohol, as well as everything else going on around you does not come across on the YouTube videos.
