I thought it was going 'alright' until he murdered Bad Name. By 'alright' I mean when you consider there was no credible lead guitarist (fingers crossed just because Phil's recording with the drills right now and this was unlikely to be a paid gig) and that saps a lot from a band playing those songs...

I do agree that he's singing better though, truth is when you lose the higher range it doesn't come back and he's lost about half his entire range over the last few years. Still looks like a first rate front man though so maybe with Phil/Richie and Bobby/Dave covering his ass and singing the mid and high parts and him just sticking to what he can actually still do it could be good...

I think if Jon had the rest of Bon Jovi backing him he'd sound similar to that BBC promotional thing they did in Jan 2013.

This type of set would be a really good flow to carry Bon Jovi to the end.

Not the songs per say but the length and flow of the show. The band played 24 songs total over the course of exactly 2 hours. Jon sang lead on 19 of them and then did 2 duets which brings his number down to 17. None of the songs were dragged out either which seems to relax Jon.

It's quality over quantity. Jon needs to stop pretending to be Springsteen. Bruce's songs aren't as vocally challenging and his songs are longer when played live because of the big band solos from the E-Street Band.

Coping that same KOS flow, Jon should do 19 songs and give 3 to Richie and 1 to Dave. Richie should get to do 1 song from his solo albums and then keep it to either Bon Jovi songs or familiar covers. With Richie wanting more time in the front spot, that would be perfect.

They need to stop the Sleep and Bad Medecine melodies and just play each song it's entirety. If they are going to do Start Me Up, they should just play the entire thing, even if they want to shorten it a little but they should play more than just 1 verse. When he does Bad Med, he doesn't sing it right and is just dragging out 12 minutes of pain. He should sing it from start to finish and put it out of its misery in 5. Then he could do a few covers. Besides Dave's keys, Bad Med has nothing to offer fans anymore when played live. Same with Sleep.

Sorry, but worst idea ever. On recent tours, that is the only time that we get a little ad lab. Usually it's nothing special, but if they go off the script at all, it's usually during those songs.

They could retire Sleep all together, but keep the Bad Medicine medley.

Nah Rdkopper is right. You could do a medoly with anything. These 2 have been played at every show for the last 21 years. It's got tired. Do something else

I'd keep Bad Medicine in personally. It's a song I do like a lot live mainly due to Jons energy on it and how 'fun' it can be.

Couldn't care less if I didn't hear 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead' again, though.

The could play the Keep the Faith album front to back too, doesn't mean they'll do it.

I'm all about them dropping some of their "every show hits", but I think Bad Medicine should be near last to go. And again, they COULD add decent medleys/ad libs to a few other songs they play regularly but (and again) doesn't mean they will. I might be alone here, but that's one of the few parts I still really enjoy about their show.

I wouldn't say that I haven't enjoyed other parts during the last tour, too. But in some way you're right, I've always been excited what covers they would play during that songs.

Which is why I sad in my review (earlier in this thread) "Yes there were a lot of covers but for me, who has seen far too many Bon Jovi shows over the years (along with the static setlists) I loved that the show was completely different."

I loved hearing "something completely different."
