For those holding Hillary Clinton campaign IOUs and still "livin' on a prayer," she has lined up Jon Bon Jovi for a Jan. 15 fund-raiser to "make a memory" of her debt.
The hunky rock star will headline the cash bash at Town Hall in midtown Manhattan just five days before Barack Obama becomes President. Clinton is expected to be confirmed as secretary of state soon afterward.
Former President Bill Clinton also is set to attend the event titled "Thank you, Hillary: A Salute to Hillary Clinton," which is billed on the invitation as a "final evening" in support of Clinton's presidential campaign debt relief.
As of the end of November, the Clinton campaign reported debt totaling $6.4 million. (New York's junior senator has officially forgiven the $13.2 million she personally loaned her campaign.)
Clinton's campaign debt reached its peak, $12 million, at the end of June, several weeks after she conceded the Democratic primary fight to Obama, and has steadily fallen since.
Next week, Vice President-elect Joe Biden will headline a fund-raiser for Clinton at a private home in Philadelphia.
Tickets for the event with Bon Jovi range from $75 to $1,000. The top-dollar ticket comes with a VIP orchestra seat and a photo opportunity with Clinton.
Town Hall holds more than 1,400 people.
While maxed-out donors - people who have already contributed $2,300 to Clinton - may not contribute again, they can attend the event if they recruit two or more people at a certain seating level, according to the invitation.
The venue is particularly meaningful because it was founded by suffragettes, who won women the right to vote.
Clinton, the first woman elected to the Senate in New York and the first (and only) First Lady elected to public office, narrowly lost the Democratic nomination to Obama following a grueling and bitter primary last year.
After the Nov. 4 election, Obama tapped Clinton to be his secretary of state.
Clinton hopes to have the remainder of her debt retired before she is confirmed.

Sorry if I sound thick, but I thought Jon supported Obama and at one time Obama and Hillary were rivals?

No, he always supported Hillary until Obama became the presidential nominee, in which case he threw his support for Obama.

Actually, Jon supported Obama for the nomination but is mates with the Clintons.

Obama and Clinton were rivals but from the same party (Democrats) which Jon supports.
