I still think you don't get the 02 is a different run of shows, the costs are in line with any other major league artist who plays there. I'll tell you what, when we get to next year and see the stadium prices if they are still ridiculous, I'll join in the uprising.

In the meantime mate, I really do hope you enjoy yourself no matter what your feelings beforehand and my own seething jealousy.

I think your going to get some incredible shows.

There was an article in one of our large newspapers a few weeks ago about the prices bands/artists charge for tickets.
One of our top tour promoters said no matter what spin they put on it - the artist knows EXACTLY what the ticket prices are. It is decided between the artist and management.
He said never ever believe anything else than that.

That's absolutely not true and I don't know where you get that information from. Here's a list of prices for pretty much every major league artist who's played there, and, erm, who didn't play there.

Michael Jackson:
50, 60 and 75

Prince:
32.21

Paul McCartney:
55 - 125

Britney Spears:
49,50 - 100

Led Zeppelin:
125

Kylie Minogue:
49

Black Eyed Peas:
55

Rod Stewart:
70 - 80

Aerosmith:
100

Now explain to me how an act that does 12 shows at the same venue should ask more than McCartney who did just 1 show. There are no transportation issues, no staff has to be hired to take down the stage and the list goes on and on and on how how they actually save money on this. Many artist in this list are bigger than Bon Jovi will ever be yet when looking at the ticket prices Bon Jovi seem to think they're, erm, The Beatles or so?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

While I think Jon (or maybe even BJM) has destroyed a lot of the fun and excitement surrounding being a fan of Bon Jovi, I for one am still somewhat excited about my upcoming show this tour at the New Meadowlands stadiums.

I am excited to meet up with some of you for the first and hopefully not the last time and to be at a show with people who know the band just as well is not better than I do.

I am excited to potentially start increasing my collection in more ways than one and the Meadowlands may be a start.

Last but not least, I am excited to see the band. There is absolutely no way that they will perform the same old same old setlist (after the first night) to a New Jersey crowd (the closest thing in the US to a European crowd).

I wasn't aware of the ticket prices for the O2. Guess I haven't been paying attention to that. Sounds awfull that they now charge more than Mcartney....

Well - having seen 2 shows in Philadelphia so far - I would have to say that I have never seen better shows. Philadelphia show #2 was one of the best shows by this band that I've seen. I love this album - I especially like the songs live.

Personally I can't wait for the New Meadowlands shows. The tickets are already bought so I'm not even thinking about the money anymore.

Are you guys sure you aren't just growing up?

That's what I keep reading...not too many negative reviews by the people attending the shows on this tour. I still don't want to get my hopes too high so I remain a bit of a pessimist until I see them. After all, no harm can be done by raving afterwards.

And for the last sentence; that is what I meant before by "there's time for everything" I said earlier. Maybe we are all just growing up...I don't wanna

I'm not sure about that. Thierry has been more laid back now for years whereas he always asked me if I'd ever grow up. And when it comes to other stuff, yes, we've, erm...matured a bit.

When it came to Bon Jovi we always got stuck on the same level of superduper excitement for pretty much everything Bon Jovi did on a tour. Maybe that's changed a bit as well nowadays. Another friend of mine feels pretty much the same while she always used to try to drag me back into it during the HAND tour, a time during which I gave nothing about Bon Jovi at all. She's experiencing the same she told me. It's just that we don't experience the same sort of passion for it anymore as we used to do and we both know that at the start of the tour it was completely different.

I can see where you're coming from Seb. I am really excited about the 5 shows I'm seeing, but there's a lot of factors going into it. The meetups with everyone here, the fact that the first three coincide with the end of school, the road trip aspect of Boston and etc. I'll be the first to say that ticket prices don't affect me on a literal level, because I always go for cheap(ish) seats anyway. I am excited to see the band/show and for TC songs live but I don't have that "Wow, what amazing song will they play next" mentality. I'm sure that's a mix of their static sets, and my having seem them double digit times.

A quick aside: This isn't directed at anyone specifically and I mean no offense by it, but I think the people who're dismissing Dave's attending the Tony's really don't understand how big of a deal they are.

I have to agree with Sebas. I'm definitely not feeling " the Jovi" this year, where 2 years ago I was really excited to seeing them.
I think the lack of a proper tour, safe setlists combined with the high ticket prices means that to see your favorite band you have to spend incredible amounts of money is well, a big put-off for me.

I still love the music as I think that on every album post 2000 there are songs which stand out, but for the live shows I think I have been spoiled by seeing the band in their prime (1988 up to 1996) a lot of times. Also the fact that ever since Crush the setlist have stayed the same most of the time has downed my enthusiasm, I can not stand another night filled with the biggest hits, then some Born to be my baby, In these arms, Just Older or Crash and 5 new album tracks.

I'm Dutch and the show organised here this year (Royal Beach Concert) is such a mess that I can't allow myself to spend 200 euro's for a ticket and sponsor this mess.

So for the first time since 1988 I will not pay to see Jovi in my country.
