Maybe I'm just easier to please or maybe it's because I'm one of those stupid new fans, but I've had a hell of a good time at the shows I've been to . . . in spite of the things that I'd change if I ran Bon Jovi . . . and I'm ready for MORE!
Over-analysis has indeed ruined the fun.
I love this board, youtube and every channel to stay up to date and get all the news and facts about Jovi, but the backside of this is: the magic is gone, no more surprises, we just know it all as it happens.

It becomes even worse when we al start giving our own theories, thoughts and so on... especially when it's negative because I personally don't like negativity. I mean, i am realistic and not every thing is roses and sunshine, but I like to focus on the good things and it's hard to see that there's more negativity on this board than good things.

American crowds don't really get in to it. The fans aren't as dedicated (people go to see Livin' on a Prayer and that's about it) and they rarely move much. The crowds in Europe are ridiculous! Crazy and wild (as it should be). That's why these setlists have been the way they are - Jon sees what is working, and wouldn't change it because the crowd would be even less into it. For performers, why would you try harder? In Europe they'll try harder.
Well, for Jovi, ... since 2000 they regained their popularity in the US and that's the reason why they are putting it all on the states. I really doubt if Jovi will remain a stadium act overseas because in combination with high ticket prices i'm affraid it will be hard for them to pull crowds over more then 20.000. So, probably, back to arena's.

Wait until they go to south america ... latino crowds : I guess they are really wild & loud.
I wonder what that will give.

Well Seb, I have to admit I am exactly on the other side of the river compared to your thoughts. Even though we pretty much disagree on every topic I have to say that I really admire your knowledge about Bon Jovi. I really do. Your website is really cool and all those information that everyone can find over there is just totally great. I can’t even imagine how much time you had to spend to put all that data. But at this point I also think that it’s also one of the main reasons why you don’t get so excited about the shows anymore. You are so much into those numbers, statistics, details of each show that it’s really hard to surprise you or satisfy about anything. You know almost anything about the band. And somewhere on the way it seems that you lost pure love for this. Maybe I am wrong and I don’t mean to offend you in any way, but I think that maybe it might be the reason.

If I were to see BJ in New Jersey, there wouldn’t be anything more exciting for me. It’s like seeing Michael Jordan at the United Center or old Chicago Stadium (sorry for that comparison, but I was just a die-hard fan of the Bulls in the 90’ and that was my biggest dream ever). I didn’t get the chance to experience that and I never will. And you are going to see your favourite band on their home court, for 3 straights nights and I think you can’t get any better than that. It’s just a privilege and somehow you don’t appreciate it the way it deserves in my opinion. Of course you have the right to feel that way, but just know that there are thousands of people who would like to be at your place and you are really blessed to have those 3 magical tickets. And I am pretty much sure that you will say that you had a blast after those shows. Maybe just try not to assume anything, forget about the numbers, set lists so far, YT videos or anything else and let the band take your soul again.

Anyway, right now I am at the busiest part of the year at my work and don’t have much time for anything, including posting on this board. But to tell you the truth, in all this craziness of everyday life Bon Jovi show in Paris is the biggest thing that keeps me going everyday (apart from the smile on my little daughter’s face of course ). Just a thought about this day makes me jump like a child. I am counting down the days till that day and those 2 hours of my life. It’s like a point on the horizon I am dying to reach. And with every step I am getting closer I get more excited. Of course that is only my second BJ show and that might be the reason. Moreover the first one indoors, so it will be interesting to compare it to the one in the stadium. But still the buzz is bigger than ever. I don’t care how much I paid for the tickets nor how much Jon will earn after the tour. His what you call ‘money orientated behavior’ for me is just a ‘make an ordinary man’s dreams come true orientated behavior’

I've been doing the Bon Jovi thing for 26 years Seb, and have to say that there have been peaks and valleys for me over the years. Sometimes I am so excited to get to see them again live I can't stand it hardly, and other times I'm honestly more excited about seeing my friends in that city, and seeing the band is just icing on the cake.

But then I have to remember, Bon Jovi has given me two things in 26 years, one, a pretty great soundtrack to my life with some really great music, and two, some of the best friendships I have ever had. I can honestly say that my closest friends, some of whom have been my friends for over 20 years all started over, or because of a mutual love of Bon Jovi. It's what got us talking, got us together etc....... so i think it's ok to be excited about seeing your friends and to be excited about getting to see the sites in NYC, it's a great city why wouldn't you want to be excited. I think, and hope you will find that the shows will take care of themselves, up to this point the band really is playing brilliantly this tour, Jon is performing great and has a passion to play live. I think you'll enjoy it. My advice, don't worry about the setlists go in each night and just enjoy the performances and the playing.

These topics become more and more annoying. I have been a fan since 1987 but I am not one of those women who blindly follow. I know we all have differing opinions on Jon as a person and a business man. Jon is not Gene Simmons who in my opinion is the epitomizes greed. Bon Jovi has not tried to sell condoms and coffins. They repackage and re-lease stuff all the time. Jon is a charitable person and I don't think its an act. Nobody forces us to buy the music and merchandise, including tickets.

A Jovi concert is like a religious experience for me. I cannot wait to see them in two weeks and the two times in July. They were not on autopilot so far and I have never seen them play like that when I have seen them in the past.I would stop seeing them and listening them if I did not feel a connection anymore. Many people that I know are not fans in the way that I am. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have become friends with Kathleen and her family and with Terri and Brian. Now if only I could find a partner that is into the music.

Seb leave your preconceived notions about the band and the current tour at home and get on that plane and enjoy the ride.

Obviously I could be wrong - and I could be seeing what I want to see - but the passion that I saw at the Philadelphia shows has been been missing for quite a while. I came away from those shows very much impressed - and once more - in love with the music.
I think that Jon's love for his own music renewed sometime around the LH tour.

ooohh yes, they definetly need to tour Latin america to feel the excitement and adrenalin these crowds can generate. Places like Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela so on have been craving bon Jovi for more than a decade and a half. The shows in PR become way to ****ing corporate by the monopoly the promotion companys have here so a lot of shows get ****ed up when it comes to production and shit but it would still be welcomed to have another show here.

I´m really excited about the O2 shows, I´ll travel to London to see 2 of them. Even though I first saw them on the New Jersey tour, I´ve never seen Bon Jovi anywhere else than in Finland. So this really is a big thing for me.

And when it comes to the discussion of loosing interest in Bon Jovi or growing up etc... They´ve been in my life for about 24 years -that makes almost a quarter of a century. They sure have changed -and so have I! There´s been ups and downs, just like in any long relationship. Many times I´ve felt frustrated and then time and again realized how much they really mean to me. These guys have played the soundtrack of my life, they´ve created and performed music no one else could and their music speaks to me like no other music. No matter if I´m 15 or 38.

I couldn´t care less if Jon Bon Jovi is a businessman or not. In June I´m going to see them once again. And it´ll be amazing to see the songs of my life performed live in front of me, by the guys who wrote them.

I guess it's different for me. I wasn't really a huge Bon Jovi fan up until the past couple years. So for me, I only see Bon Jovi once every two years when they come to Denver. Setlist wise, they could play whatever and wow me. On this Circle Tour, the Denver show got one of the weakest setlists of the entire leg (in terms of changes/staticness) but out of any concert I've seen from any band, it's probably in my top 5 shows. It was such a great show. The entire band was on fire!!

It´s actually pretty easy to say if it´s you growing up, or the band gone blah..

Think about other things that get / used to get you enthusiastic. Of course these vary on people, but these things could include Christmas, your favorite sports team/player, Football World Cup, Fridays, good movie or whatever. If you feel you´ve kind of lost the passion for those too then it´s you growing up or transforming to whatever we transfrom into when we get older.

Otherwise it´s just Bon Jovi your getting bored of and then it´s obviously their fault

This is my message
