I nominate Jeff Scott Soto (journey recent version) I heard him sing Faithfully into Purple Rain.

or

Aaron Lewis (staind), In one show I heard Lewis do Alice in Chains, 4 non-blonds, neil diamond, kermit the frog, lynrd skynrd, don mcclain, night ranger, janis joplin, skid row, great white, the eagles, neil young, jesus jones, george michael, van morrison, pink floyd, pearl jam, and guns and roses and the crowd loved every minute of it.

both are vocal chameleons with great and versatile voices, and the fate of the world depends on it
Dave
Rob Thomas, but please replace Richie also cause he not really being represantive for the last few years, so the question is, who will be the next guitar player??

Rick Nielsen would be fun.

There are a ton of Bon Jovi tribute bands aren't there? Pull the lead singer from one of them and see how long it takes for everyone to notice it's not Jon.

No - actually my first suggestion was Richie backed by Dave. But considering how much this thread deteriorated I thought a little humor would help.

And being the rather irreverant sort myself - perhaps Bill Murray wouldn't be a bad idea
