The others, like We Got It Goin' On, Because We Can, Born To Follow, Lost Highway, Whole Lot Of Leavin' just don't belong in a set like that. This solo band of Jon is just so, so average. Really, at times they sound like a cheap karaoke band, and the lead singer often sounds like he's auditioning as opposed to being the front man there. And yet of all the songs played, the one that rocks the most is the one where Phil X takes lead vocals. The entire band seems to live up as there's actually someone spicing it up. Phil's also showing in 5 minutes what Richie hasn't been capable of in about 10 years now.
I agree about the hits thing, not so much about the rest though. While I don't like AC/DC very much, Phil's vocals just sound awful in the verses. Maybe it's supposed to sound that way, and I think very highly of Phil, but maybe it's just not the type of song he should sing. Also, as I said before, the KoS have sounded very worse than this, I even though that maybe the drummer got some lessons from or watched Tico, hell, he even got his black and white sticks now

Frankly, with several people on Jovitalk nowadays thinking he's a good singer because he's hitting high notes in Hallelujah (considering there aren't any) it wouldn't surprise me if a casual fan knows **** all about what he's supposed to sound like nowadays. There's still people out there that really, really think Jon is a great singer. Really.

The thing that'll always surprise me is how he's using all kinds of technique to hit a certain note, and yet none of them have anything to do with singing. He's just so obviously doing it wrong but yet when he's supposedly doing it the right way he's not getting anywhere near the right key. There's just no saving anymore.
Do you have an example of where he's supposedly using right technique, but still not getting anywhere? While he definitely isn't as good as he used to be 5, 10 or 20 years earlier, he still sounded decent on this one for the most part, as opposed to the second half of 2013 and the first half of 2014, which was just plain bad and embarassing.

He looks like he's put a few pounds on, I'll say that much!

I've seen pictures from the fan club event on Facebook and he's fit and thin. If he lost 15 pounds he'd look sickly and we'd all be wondering if he was auditioning for the role of a cancer patient or crack addict in a movie.

I wouldn't say so. I think he's put a bit of weight on. Not that big of a deal like was just making a flying comment.

I'm a little behind here.

First off, I think the weight thing is a Joke. He looks exactly the same.

Second, his upper high note region is gone. He sounds decent at a normal tone but once he goes up, it's painful on the ears and the visual of his struggle is even worse . His singing has not improved since the last tour.

Please Come Home was horrible. He sang the song in a higher key and it's just painful especially when he goes even higher. I Wish Everyday was better because he started in that safe zone and didn't have to stretch too much. Even songs like American Girl are sang in that higher key. I think he should go lower with a rasp.

I don't know what the Puck he's doing but he needs a new vocal coach.

"Please come home" was okay, but when watching "I wish everyday" I couldn't help but thinking how unbelievable it is that there's only 3 1/2 years between THIS

(watch from 4'10" - best version of Someday I'll be Saturday Night EVER)
and THIS. He has lost his characteristic high region
Comes with age, not much you can do about it, but ackward for someone once singing the one and only R2D2 Christmas song in a Mickey Mouse kind of way.

Likely feeling sad at his inability to sing well.

That is such an impressive Saturday night. He definitely can't do that anymore.
