I think they'd go down great at Glasto, esp. if they did the old hits - people at Glasto like nostalgia and a damn good singalong. People would pretend to hate the idea, but they'd go down a storm.

I saw Bon Jovi at a festival in 1995 and it wasn't fun at all.

Festivals are great when you go with a bunch of friends, have an all around good time and go to see a bunch of great bands (Arrowrock in Holland always seems to get a great lineup) but as an (near-)obsessive Bon Jovi fan I'd rather not see them at a festival!

It's just not that good - they wouldn't play a full set to begin with, you'd have to put up with a load of mediocre acts (as the promoters would put all the money on the Jovis and would have to get poor acts otherwise), put up with a load of drunkards who don't give a toss about Bon Jovi etc etc etc... Just not worth it!

...I heard Jon say that "Hull was not his best performance but the crowd were good"!... well ain't that the truth!...but that may be as good as we get as an apology!..but that's OK!!! not great, just OK!!

...I couldn't get my head round the festival thing...the DJ was saying "How amazing would it be to be in a field with 80,000 people belting out the big hits and everyone singing their hearts out" or summit like that!...haven't we just done that???? and got a 2.5 - 3hr set instead of an hour!!??....hhhhmmmmm

Replace drunkards with 15 year old teeny-boppers and you've just summed up Rumba! And it cost only $5 AUD more for my U2 tickets than what Rumba was....definitely hard to justify the cost.

To be fair I dont think most Bon Jovi fans could cope with a festival. If you look at the Fan club pit, most of them want about 2 foot square of space round them, room to fully lie down before it starts, can you imagine when some will be like when a pissed/stoned Kaiser Cheifs fan starts crowd surfing over them??!!

UUummm i'm a big festie gower and am off to 3 this year and would love it if Jovi played a couple over here next year...i really cant see it though myself

they could possibly play the Isle Of White Festival...thats a possibility...I dont reckon Bon Jovi are really what the Reading crowd would want...unfortunatly...and they aint mainstream enough these days...in the fact that they dont have really big chart success meaning they'd be unlikely to play V....

ya never know though....but one things for sure...where they go i go!

still dont beleive it tho!

But yea i think it will be Isle Of White if they play anywhere..theyve put on acts like REM, Roxy Music etc...in the past so i reckon there the most open to the more established acts which may not apeal to the 15 yr olds...

Thing with Glasto, as has already been mentioned, they always have one 'legendry' band that you'd imagine would not go down well at all. Then it ends up being a huge boost for their career. I think the Glasto goers would relish Bon Jovi. Put them on as the final act of the night when everyone's ****ed, high on whatever, drunk to the eyeballs - people would go crazy for Prayer, Bad Medicine, etc. They're not a particularly agressive bunch. V is always for current artists, as far as I can tell. Leeds/Reading is a possibility (this year we've got Slayer and Pearl Jam, so why not?). Who knows, it probably won't happen anyway.

With regards to the Hull mention - blaming it on the hayfever drugs is a poor excuse. I have to take the strongest tablets, nasel spray, eye drops, four times a day for practically the whole year or else I swell up like a balloon, loose my voice, etc. At the most they make you a very little bit drowsy. Unless Jon's on some heavy duty allergy stuff, I can't see that it would affect his performance that badly.

I've found a link to listen to an interview with Bon Jovi again on the Virgin Website at the bottom of this page: Link but it requires registration to the site and I'm not sure it's even the correct one.
