Jon played in Orlando last night!

These Jon only and/or Jon & friends shows can be so... bad and this one is beyond bad. I thought I *might* like his version of "Pretty Woman" but --- nope --- maybe he does these gigs to raise money for charity such as the JBJ Soul Kitchen, but - IMHO - it just does not go down well ... Besides, he could take money that he's made off the tours and use that money for his philanthropy work.

I really do not know why he bothers to do a lot of these gigs without THE BAND. If no one has ever seen him perform before, and sees him, for the first time, at one of these gigs, I doubt if they would ever go to see a full Bon Jovi show.

I don't know....people can question the motive ($) and the quality of performance with no band, but I'd have love'd to have been there! Haven't seen Bon Jovi (JBJ) live since Milwaukee in May.

I don't want to disregard the money angle as I know Jon gets paid well for these private shows but I think Jon just likes to sing. Years ago he used to come off a tour, feel restless, and go join the Ashbury Jukes for some dates. The other band members weren't interested in going out to small venues after coming off a tour. Hence the creation of a "Jon & Friends" band. These private gigs allow him to play more non-Bon Jovi songs and probably are fun to do overall. It would be cool if he tested some new songs on these audiences.

So true!! I was going to say to ShadyLady, how dare you say something nice about Jon. Don't you know that he hates music and it's all about the money, money, money. Where the hell did you come up with the concept that Jon likes to perform??

I think it's a tad unfair to get on Jon for doing something that basically every band under the sun does (corporate gigs).

Was going to say the same thing Brian. Not all, but a lot of bands/artists play corporate gigs.

Actually he has even been well paid for doing a private birthday party. I remember him commenting about a check "with a lot of zeros." My feelings are that if you have that much money [to buy a private concert], you have too much money.

Minimum $1,000,000 plus expenses to get them to play private for you ..


i thought it would be funny to look into it for my wedding and was in contact with the company that deals with it all..

but still if i could i would and all of you would to .. why do people hate the fact that he earns money ??
