If he's gonna half-ass the set lists (which he's been doing), just postpone the damn shows.
I don't think we can blame the setlists on Jon's leg. The setlist at night 4 at the Meadowlands was vanilla, and he didn't hurt his leg until the end of that show. More than likely, the bland setlists are because they're back in North America and doing single show cities again. Canada's getting the same treatment as the south.

Interestingly enough, the 2 shows I went to AFTER Jon got hurt were much better shows (performance-wise) than the final night in NJ.

Like Dan said, some die-hards from what I remember reading appreciated it but casual concert goers were extremely disappointed having to sit through an acoustic set.

I agree to some extent and before the bashers jump in an accuse Jon of not canceling them because there is money to be had, I don't that's everything.

Yeah i saw one such show in Pittsburgh. I thought it was really good but certainly various people in the crowd weren't as captivated by the acoustic set. Once they kicked into the electric half though the place when absolutely nuts. It helped that the band focused primarily on their older hits + certainly had boat loads of energy to spare. It wouldn't be a bad route to go except that it would take the casual concert goer by surprise, which would perplex them greatly.
