Yes it's true, Jon definitely sounds better then during the Crush tour or the OWN tour. But you can still hear the difference when he's giving a performance for 50.000 men or 20.000. And there's a difference if he's on television or not.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
I wached QVC on TV and didn't notice any difference. Indeed for the TS gig they sounded better. But I think they had backing tapes there because that was simply too good. Either that or they had some very high-tech equipment for that show.

How do you know that Jon is not giving it his all? He is a perfectionist. Why do you assume that he is not giving it his all? You don't know what's going on. Everyone knows Jon has bad allergies. I'm sure that doesn't help his voice. And who knows what else he may suffer! His physical condition differes from gig to gig. Please stop making stupid assumptions when you don't know what's really going on.
I listened to almost all the bootlegs until a certain date in the US and the QVC performance just stands out. The fact that he even ripped of his T-shirt at that show proves it too. It's something he would not have done on other dates.

And yes, I know he can't be as good as everynight. But it's just a little too much co-incidence that as soon as he is on TV or Radio he gives better performances. And how to you explain the fact that stadium gigs are most of the time better too ?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Not much reasoning in this yet, just felt like voicing my opinion....
And I completely agree with this!

I don't think that says much. I detected Jon was a bit hoarse during the Sydney Rumba gig, but no one else commented on it. We all hear things differently.
Melbourne Rumba Jon had a great voice.

Jon's voice sounds fine to me and it sounds BETTER than it did back in the days of SWW or NJ. I was listening to NJ yesterday and even the CD which doesn't have the strain of live performance doesn't sound as good as the newer recordings or the newer live performances.

The recent live shows certainly sound better than the ones from the 80's.
