Thanks for the review and pix, Terri. I'm glad last night's show was enjoyable despite the problems. I'm sure you're in for a great show tonight too.

Last night was a lot of fun. As you know, nothing earth-shattering in the setlist. Since I wasn't around for the HAND tour, I was really pleased to hear Last Man Standing for the first time. (It was only done a few times on the LH tour, and I wasn't at any of those shows.) Memory went over really well -- big sing-along. I think it must be a lot more popular in the US than in Europe. And I like Lost Highway and really enjoy Whole Lot of Leavin', so I didn't mind them. I must say that I don't understand not doing either Bed of Roses or Always. We didn't get either one in Vegas either. Jon can definitely sing them now, so why not? Whatever -- standard setlist in a huge amphitheater (23,000). The band was in great spirits . . . even after problems cropped up. There were major issues with the mix all through the show, and Jon had fits with his in-ear monitors all night. He must have been getting all the wrong stuff through them when he tried to start Summerfest. He couldn't get the pitch and didn't start and didn't start. Richie went over and played right next to him at which point Jon said something like "this f**king stage sucks!" The sound system picked that up perfectly. LOL Thankfully, in spite of everything, Jon didn't get noticeably pissed off. Jon's voice sounded good, and he did not get winded like he did in Vegas. Jon even jumped off the stage and went into the crowd twice. I remember thinking they all really seemed to enjoy doing the show in Vegas, and the feeling was the same last night. Jon & Richie seemed especially tight. I can confirm that Jon said they finished recording the new album this week and that he and Richie are heading for London to start mixing next week.

If you want to see more photos, go to http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/i...%20Summerfest/. The guest password is Richie.

We're going back for Keith Urban tonight. Saturday night KISS is the headliner , so we opted not to buy tickets for the amphitheater. We may go watch bands on the other stages, though. There are 11 stages, so we've got lots of options.
I know NOTHING about these things so this may sound really stupid but if he's complaining about "the stage" is it possible the VERY LOW stage makes a difference with his monitars? I mean his feed is coming from the front of house right? So if the stage is not very high and neither is FOH could his reception be messed up by the thousands of people between them at practically the same level?

We have a few musicians here who might know this so feel free one of you to tell me that I'm off my rocker.

Oh, and Terri, thanks for the review and great pictures.

Okay, I"m trying to figure out which "touring musicians" went with them. I know, obviously, Jon, Richie, Tico, David, and Hugh were there. It also looks like Bobby was there. Were there any of the other extras along?
(Lorenza? Jeff Kazee?)

.

Just like in Las Vegas, Bobby was the only extra.

I'm okay with Bobby being there I guess, but there's no real need for extra musicians in my opinion.
