Guest starring Kevin Bacon, no doubt.

How can we be sure it's actually Kevin Bacon and not that other dude whatever his name is?

Kuba, what an epic tale and very well told. I'm delighted you heard your song on Wednesday night. And what a song it is! I'm sorry to hear you had a hard time whilst you were here in Ireland, and I only hope that you made some friends during your time here, there are assholes everywhere, but you were unlucky to run in to so many of them when you lived here. Your fond memories of Dublin should now outweigh the bad!

I understand the sacrifices you had to make to get over here and why you did it. I'll tell you my own story - What should have been two easy shows in Dublin for me to attend turned out to be very hard indeed as the death of my father-in-law occurred a few days beforehand and his funeral took place on Wedneday 29th. I agonized over what to do, I was SO looking forward to these concerts but I wanted to be there for my husband and family. They made the decision for me and told me to go to the concerts and enjoy them as it is what my father in law would have wanted. So I spent Wednesday with the family and arrived in the RDS just in time to see Bon Jovi come on stage. I had a diamond ticket for this night but missed the whole pre show part. I didnt care at all, just being there to see BJ was more than enough for me. The show exceed all my expectations and was I was emotional given the day that was in it. It felt like the right thing to do, given my husbands blessings, to sing my heart out and dance with joy to the soundtrack of my life. I felt so alive that night - that is what Bon Jovi do to me - make me feel alive.

Coincidentally, my daughters birthday is also on June 30th! However, she is 12 now and loves Bon Jovi, so I got to spend her birthday with her at the concert in the GC! (Best birthday ever she said!) I was so lucky, that night, to hear my own dream song - Never Say Goodbye - sung right in front of me, with my daughter there to enjoy it too. If you are very, very lucky, Kuba, maybe one day you'll be able to share the Bon Jovi experience with your little girl too.

Well Kevin Bacon is a must, and if its a 'romcom', then Hugh Grant is obviously going to be in it.

They are one and the same. I also feel, it being such a heartwarming tale, there should be voiceover aspects from the silky smooth Morgan Freeman.

How about Colin Farrell as the evil Irish bully at work? And maybe Natalie Portman as the hot wife?

I just now read your review, Kuba, as I realized from the length of it that I would need close to an hour to do so (you were clearly inspired!) What can I say, it was really really touching and, most important of all, showed genuine passion and love for the band. (And make no bones about it - had Richie not been on the stage in Helsinki, I, too, would have just handed my ticket to the first person willing to see the band without him and said: here you go, I don't want it... Though, in your case, of course, the financial loss would have been multiplied! Thank God it didn't come to that, eh? )

Juxtaposing your life story with the band and their music made this a very heartwarming post and I'm just happy that this board can still produce something like this, no matter how steeped in cynicism the community is in general. Your post beautifully displayed that other side of being a so called die-hard...

You know what, out of all people, I wish Richie himself would read your review...

Thank you for sharing your epic love for Dry County with us. After this review I'm even more happy on your behalf that you finally got to witness it being performed live.

Wow, Kuba have just read your review & truly made me cry, seem to think you did this to me a couple of months ago when I believe you wrote about Richie going into rehab & you looking forward to Dublin - as being the only thing keeping you going! (apologies if this was not you). What a beautiful piece of writing, I too was desperate to hear Dry County & was so lucky to hear it that night & to have got it on the Saturday at Hyde Park, nearly made me cry both times when the notes were started. As you say the whole of last week was a truly amazing experience for me as well & something I will never forget & it is wonderful reading of others feelings too!
