Next day after we checked-out at 12 from the hotel we had really nothing to do in London. We both were still not fully rested after the trip to Paris and had enough of sightseeing for this year So we decided to go to the center, and sit down by the Thames River, near the Eye Of London and rest over there doing basically nothing. And that would give me enough time to write a ‘Thank You’ letter to Jon. And so we did that. I took me about 2 hours to pull out 3 pages, sitting on the bank in the sun, enjoying the great weather, searching in the back of my head everything that I always wanted to say to Jon if I would ever meet him in person. Well let me keep it to myself what I did wrote over there, but just to give you a glimpse I have written about 4 things:
1.How grateful I am for their music and how much it means to me and how much it effects my life everyday, a big thank you for everything;
2. How great TC album is and that Jon should be proud of it, and play as much as possible from this album, especially BPL, HN, Bullet, TIMS, LTOR and LTL, all my personal favourites. And told him not to give up on them and give some more time for people to fall in love with them, and it will come and they will be as big in the future as any other big hits;
3. Show in Poland. I invited him to come and offered him some help with organization. Some of you may laugh but this is not as stupid as it seems. Some of you know that I have my own business. I am a co-owner of a travel & event agency and last year we have helped with organization of a huge concert in my hometown on the anniversary of the set up of The Solidarity Movement. It was a concert of Ennio Morricone, a great movie score composer, with a 100-people orchestra from Hungary and 100-people choir. It was huge and I personally was one of the few who picked up Maestro at the airport. You can believe it or not, but our small company has had its small success already but we take it step by step. That’s why I love TC. It gives me lots of strength and motivation to move on in business and get better and better even though it’s really hard sometimes. And that’s why it annoys me so much when some of you attack Jon for being a CEO, but you have no idea what it’s like to run your own company and gain success. So I also put my business card inside of that letter. I am not saying I want to make profits on it, all I want to do is help with possible organization of it, even if it means good advice only. But I think sometimes a good advice is worth more than loads of money;
4. And last but not least, I told Jon about this board. I have given him the link to JT and invited him to drop here from time to time so he could find out some inspiration and appreciation but also some constructive critics.

And that was it. And what’s funny, since I didn’t have any proper piece of paper I have written my letter on the back of the copies of my tickets for both shows from Ticketmaster (self print, A4 format). I will leave the rest between me and Jon. Anyway by time we were supposed to go for the Saturdays show, the letter was complete and in the envelope (taken from the hotel).

So all I needed to make my dream come true was to see Obie again and try to convince him to pass this letter to Jon So we went straight to the o2. We were there early but couldn’t see Obie anywhere before the Kid Rock show. After that during the break I started to look for Obie by those sound consoles again but I couldn’t see him. And just when my chance was almost gone I suddenly noticed him in front of the floor, giving something to the people in VIP area. And I said to myself again : ‘this is your once in a lifetime chance, you did everything that you could, now everything is in God’s and Obie’s hands’. So I walked toward Obie. I walked up to him and asked him if he remembers me from last night. He said ‘Sure, how are you man?’ I said I was great and that I want to ask him for one more favour (no photos this time ). He said ‘Sure, what can I do for you?”. So I told him that after our last conversation I realized that he was the closest I could ever get to the band and that I always wanted to thank them for their work and that I had written a letter and would like to ask him to pass it over to Jon. And he replied without any hesitation “Do you have it with you?” I said ‘yes’ and took it out of my pocket and showed it to him. He just smiled and said “I will pass it to Jon personally, don’t worry, he will get that letter for sure, I will do that for you, no problem’ And he put it into his back pocket of his jeans. You have no idea what I have felt in my heart at that moment. Pure joy. I just smiled to him, shook his hand, said a big ‘Thank You’ and went back to my seat.

I know that for some of you it may sound silly, childish or whatever. For me it was a really big deal. A dream come true. I don’t really know if Obie really gave that letter to Jon and probably I will never get to know about that. But if he did, and Jon himself read those 3 pages that would mean a lot to me. All I care is so he would know how his music changed the life of as small boy from Poland, who grew up on their songs and became a good husband, father and even a businessman. That’s all I care. I know Jon needs that kind of appreciation from real fans as he’s given his whole heart and soul into his music and by saying a big “THANK YOU’ that’s the least we could do to give back for all those magical and unforgettable moments that their songs have given us. I know that I did everything that I could. And honestly I don’t see any reasons why Obie shouldn’t pass it to Jon. So no matter what anyone may think about it, I am sure that Jon has received my letter. And if it has put just a little smile on his face and a thought “Damn, my music is really important to someone, and someone really cares about what I do”, that’s all I want. Then I am happy too.
And if suddenly Jon starts to play BPL as a staple it would mean that he really read my letter
