Hate to say it but there are people in worse situations than you. Bon Jovi have fans all over the world, take Australlian fans for example, if they wanted to see Bon Jovi on this tour they would have to travel half way round the world.
I never said that. Of course, we all know it's a team effort. But according to what I've heard from ppl who work closely with the band, Jon IS still the boss, regardless of all the team work. So I believe he has the ultimate final word on where he wants the band to play... And he's not making that kind of decisions with darts and a map. I certainly don't claim to know all the factors Jon and the others consider when routing a tour, but I believe that things like album sales (both general and Jovi album sales), population density, previous shows and attendance figures & ticket sales at those previous shows play a big part in making the final decisions, as do geography, logistics and naturally the local promoter's offer.

And I know full well there are people who are in a lot worse situation than me. If it was up to me, Bon Jovi would be playing nothing but the 1995-1996 These Days Tour kind of tours, something that can actually be called a WORLD tour.

Once I'm done with my tour diary, I will. It might take a while tho, I'm still only at the point when I've just arrived at Dublin...LOL. But just to ease your mind, there were of course lots of things I enjoyed about my mini tour. I never said I wouldn't have enjoyed the shows, I did enjoy each and every one of them very much. I even managed to enjoy the Wolverhampton show just as much as I enjoyed the other shows, despite all the crap that went on before that particular show (and despite feeling back then that I couldn't possibly enjoy the show after all that crap). :P I also enjoyed the couple of bar nights we had, and there were even some funny moments at the queues. Plus the travelling wasn't too bad either, all my flights and trains were pretty much on schedule, so things went rather smoothly travel-wise.

Erm, to me it looked very much like you were ASSuming that I left out the mainland European shows on purpose... Which I of course didn't. If I had had the money and the opportunity, I would've done more shows this year too.

Sorry to hear you weren't able to get cheaper flights. My Ryanair flight from London to Dublin was about £26-30 with taxes and other expenses, and my Dublin-Glasgow flight (with Ryanair) was €34.51 with taxes and other expenses. And even those flights were expensive, I missed out on the really cheap London-Dublin and Dublin-Glasgow flights.

Well, you're naturally free to ASSume whatever you want. I'm aware of the realities of my life, of what's possible and what's impossible in any given situation, so I'm taking it one day at a time right now and trying not to build up any dreams or plans about what I would like to do on the next tour. I'm naturally hoping that things would turn out well, but I'm also trying to keep my feet on the ground and my head off the clouds.

Anu - glad you know that you really did enjoy the shows and that comment you made earlier about being bored as hell or something was just you being flippant!!!

And have you considered the fact that they may have scaled down the tour considerably because they want to spend more time at home
with their famillies and not be on the road for weeks and weeks??!!!!
humm????
They don't do it for the money, that is bloody obvious. they do it
cause they enjoy it and they have said many times that they will
stop touring when it isn't fun anymore.
So, on that note, I am just happy for them to be touring and will do as many shows as I can within my means because, whatever the length of the tour is, it means they are still enjoying it and don't want to stop!

Actually I read somewhere before you went that you didn't go to the dutch shows because queing was too hard and you had alot of problems there with the language barrier. So you went to the UK shows so it would be easier for you. I'm sure that wasn't the only reason but you definantly made a point of saying that you had a hard time at these places before so you'll be missing them this time around. Sounds like they were missed out on purpose or at least a concious descion was made not to go.

Yes, I did leave some countries out on purpose because of my previous bad experiences... But that doesn't mean that I could've done them if I had wanted to. The point is, I had to choose a handful of shows from the overall tour schedule, cause I had neither the means nor the opportunity to do the whole tour. Had I chosen to do the German shows, I probably would've got one or two shows more with the same money.. But because I had my doubts and fears about how the German shows might be, I decided to do the UK shows and make a neat little tour package out of them.

That said, now when it has been proven that the fan club arrangements can indeed work well even in places like Germany, Holland and Belgium, I'm keeping an open mind show-wise for whatever upcoming tours I might be able to attend.

taija thanks for the statistics.....wow you must be bored....
come over here, we would love to talk again and again and again about all the things we saw and heard and enjoyed( says flower) she can`t stop talking about all the shows. I really didn`t notice all that lol.
I wished I had done more shows, it seems to me it`s never enough.
Well Taija maybe you start to listen to the bootlegs or watch some video`s( always helps to get back the "feeling")

by the way Yvonne: I wished I had "discovered "Ryanair before I went to the UK. This time I flew with KLM...wow they are expensive!

Yeah if you can get the flight cheap enough from Ryanair they'd be worth using
