"Cheap" seats pretty pricey

My husband and I took our children to the opening night of Jon Bon Jovi's concerts at the new Prudential Center in Newark. We had a great time. However, the singer made a comment that bothered me. He looked way up to the "nosebleed" seats and said something like, "Hey, you up in the cheap seats!"

We paid $112 for each seat and we were pretty high up. I remember the least expensive seats being around $90. That's not cheap. This may be giving away my age, but in high school, a ticket to a Bon Jovi concert cost $17. Does he even know how much a ticket to his show costs now?

Maybe these artists are trying to offset their losses from Internet downloads. If they are, then they should compromise. Let music be free on the Internet. Then maybe we wouldn't mind so much paying an arm and a leg for a "cheap seat."

Some people really need to get a grip. Was it really necessary to waste time writing a letter about this? War, poverty, hunger, but let me complain about Jon saying our seats were cheap. Give me a break.

This is a valid complaint. Power to the person who wrote the letter. I hope this will lower ticket prices.

How many times does this have to be discussed?

This is a new venue, so chances are it is the venue which is making a shitload of money here, not the band. Also, try comparing even these ticket prices to other high profile artists like Madonna or The Stones and then call them expensive. These are a series of shows to open a new arena, they are events, not part of a tour, so ticket prices areb't representitive of what the regular tour prices will be. Also, comparing ticket prices to what they paid 25 years ago is ridiculous. It's like walking into a car salesroom and asking to buy a car for £50 because that's how much they cost 80 years ago.

Oh, and not to mention that no-one forces anyone to go to a concert.

Let it go.

Yeah I was actually gonna ask if anyone heard that BJ would be coming back to Jersey in January to do shows at the IZOD (formerly Continental Airlines Arena) as part of the actual Lost Highway tour. My sister's friend claims to have heard this through the grapevine.

I personally hope they close things up at Giants in the summer just like the HAND tour in '06.

The main thing that bugs me is that the idiot says she went to a JON Bon Jovi concert. Surely she knows who's ****ing concert she bought tickets to go to. ****ing moron.

She'll be oblivious, much like 75% of the fans in Wembley stadium next summer (presumptuous, I know). The hard fact is that they are just Jon and his backing band to the majority of 'fans' out there.

As for this woman's letter; the phrase isn't meant to be taken literally. The 'cheap seats' is a general term for the worst seats in any arena, is it not?
