This is a new venue, so chances are it is the venue which is making a shitload of money here, not the band. Also, try comparing even these ticket prices to other high profile artists like Madonna or The Stones and then call them expensive. These are a series of shows to open a new arena, they are events, not part of a tour, so ticket prices areb't representitive of what the regular tour prices will be.
Just because they were anounced as stand alone shows doesn't mean they're not part of a tour. They are part of a show, just anounced a few months before the tour was anounced. And if you seriously think the band is making just the same amount of money on these tickets like they normally do you haven't got a clue of what you're talking about.

Let it go.
No one forces you to comment on this letter either, yet you do and complain about someone who complains about the ticket prices. Why does every stand alone show from Bon Jovi have to 4 times as expensive as a normal show, while other big bands charge the same amount of money as they normally do (no matter how expensive their shows on tour are).

Like RichieW says, he probably meant the worst seats and it was merely a figure of speech, yet I think this woman really means that it's odd to hear a comment about "cheap seats" which normally are cheap seats, gets a weird twist when the cheap seats in fact are twice as expensive as normal.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Not everyone discussing this "again" is a member of this board and has discussed it before. I'd be pissed if he made that comment too.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
Exactly. This is what I've been saying all along too. Not to mention the fact that 10 shows is hardly what I'd call a "stand alone" gig.

It's like Celine Dion in Las Vegas.

the cheap seats down here in Atlanta will be $49.00 plus the ticketmaster charges. Not so bad, but then again, I think the cost of living down south is lower than up north. (I could be wrong.) It could be that Philip's is an older arena.

I do remember when concert tickets were $17. But that was over 10 years ago. Back to a time when gas was only a $1.00 per gallon. Now I get exicted when I see it less than 3 bucks per gallon.

I guess that is showing my age.

on another note, it also bugs me to see someone refer to it a Jon Bon Jovi concert. d

Salaam Aleikum,

exactly, this is what bugs me.
If Jon made a comment like that while I was in those so calles "cheap" seats I'd plip him the bird, even if he couldn't see it. Yeah I know stupid but it would piss me off, but I'm sure the comment wasn't made with any malicious intent from Jon as he should be thankfull anyone is even going to see his e-street style set up perform less songs than normal with a higher ticket price, let alone going to multiple nights to see basically the same show. Maybe Jon was just using his usuall stage rap not even analyzing what he said.

Well Petrol (gas ), is about £1 a litre in London.
3.7 litres to a US gallon so £3.70 per gallon.
£3.70 = $7.30 ish

3 bucks a gallon is cheap. You should feel sorry for us in Blighty.

that does make 3 bucks seem like a steal.

Looking at the cost of everyday items (Gas, Milk, etc) makes it seem petty to complain about the cost of concert tickets. I don't need to go to a bon jovi concert. but I do need to put gas in my car to get to work. to make money to put more gas in my car....

Sorry Neil thats bollox. Its nothing to do with the venue the prices for the whole tour will be completely inflated. They are already talking about backstage "packages" for the European tour. Great stuff.

Its becos of the stupid prices for the Pru that you can easily still get tickets for any section, any night for all 10 nights. Touts outside the venue were "giving" them away for as little as 20 bucks. I know all concert prices have gone through the roof but if you want decent tickets next summer, be prepared to pay through the nose.

I do feel sorry. I might think twice now before I bitch about gas prices.
