This concert was embarrassing. Jon sounds horrible. Keep the Faith was a disgrace. I'll be there for you was the worst I've seen. Jon needs to go see a vocal coach ASAP. For God's sake, even I can sing Because We Can when I'm showering and I don't sound as if I'm about to blow.
About Tyler: he still is capable of singing almost his entire catalogue. He pretty much nails Dream On nowadays. And he moves on stage. He runs on stage. He makes jokes with the crowd. In 2010, I went to an Aerosmith gig in Sao Paulo, he got a camera from someone in the crowd and sang two songs with the camera in his hands filming the audience, and then gave it back to his owner. People went nuts. On the other side, Jon on this tour was a statue on stage. He writes set lists with songs that no one wants to hear, because they are easy on his vocals. For the first time ever, they are giving more importance to production than for the music itself. I just loved the stage on the Circle Tour: one big screen showing the band. And that's it. I was completely blown away by the music in 2008, 2010 and 2011. And when I bought two tickets for the MetLife concerts, what do I get ? Two identical shows.
Unless something changes, this band is done for us die hards. And when people say that the casuals still enjoy seeing Jon shaking his ass and showing off his big white teeth on stage, think again: The crowd in Rock in Rio was put to sleep by the main set. I saw LOTS of people leaving, siting on the floor and texting. WIth a few exceptions, they don't sell out stadiums and arenas anymore. Even the casuals are starting to notice how this band has became a joke.
