They were great live, Tyler all over the place and out on the catwalk thrusting himself into my face twirling his mic stand and scarfs all over the place and Perry doing a bit of theatrics with his guitar and some glitter etc. All part of the act sure and no emotional connection with the crowd that JBJ used to do so well, but still very impressive. More importantly, they *sounded* good. I watch Jon these days and actually worry with anticipation when I know certain notes are coming up and then cringe as he stays rooted to the spot trying to reach them.

The Jovi show in 08 was fantastic and beat Aerosmith's easily for me I do happily admit. This tour though however, the gulf between then and now is huge.

Maybe you were in a better area.... another negative were the fights that kept breaking out around us which probably contributed to tainting my experience.

Am I being generous by saying there were 17 songs? Setlist.fm has 14;

Well now the tour is over and the band will take a long break I hope we will lose a few people on here who have been nothing but negative and trolling for the last fee years.

Go and waste your hate on other bands.

I'll never see the point about constantly logging on to moan about something over and over again.

There are millions of bands out there - go and find them. Then you can moan to another set of fans.

Here is Jon's speech just in case for those who never got to hear it:

And so this is it. The final show on the final night. The last time for a long time. And I get to say thank you one more time. For 30 years of your kindness, your support, your friendship and your patience. We're here 'cause of you. Not a day goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars for you either. So wherever the road takes you, wherever the road takes us, know you'll always be right here (in our hearts) OK. - JBJ Final Show - Brisbane, Australia.

Amen to that! Why constantly keep on bitching about something instead of moving on?

There are people like me who found last night's concert great, especially the ending. I never heard These Days and Always better in the last couple of years from Jon. There are also people who like Jon's 2000's voice (in general) better than his 80's rough voice. There are also people who love Captain Crash or Whole Lot Of Leaving and don't give a damn about *insert random "fan favorite" song here*. It all just comes down to taste, but there's no reason for all the negativity...

This is SUCH old ground...

I constantly defend my right to bitch about MY band, who I have supported enough to be able to expect more from when I think they are being lazy. Because with this band, it is laziness. The standards have dropped and even those who have enjoyed shows this year have admitted that.

That drop in standards has not been due to age, circumstance or outside forces; they are due to the fact that showbusiness is based on something very simple – give the people what they want – and Jon has started to do a lot more of what HE wants.

If you’re happy just to have JBJ come on stage to a melodic plodder like ‘Water’ and beam, while bouncing his shoulders from behind an acoustic guitar – brilliant, I am chuffed for you. I won’t tell you you are wrong, I might tell you it doesn’t light my fire but if it makes you happy; knock yourself out.

Just because I want him to prep his voice so he can actually sing his own songs, stop f*cking his knees up with jogging so he can move around the stage, take singing lessons so he can sing from the diaphragm and actually move from centre stage, write an album that actually rocks my world rather than rocks me to sleep… because right now, he’s too busy trying to get lyrics noticed by politicians rather than writing something that actually sticks in the memory for a few years. If I want that, I believe I am entitled to b*tch about not getting it and I don’t believe anyone can tell me I can’t come on here and share those thoughts. If this kind of negativity doesn’t please you to the point where you feel the need to shame others into censorship - as we’ve always said, head over to Backstage and go wild with your own kind.

For the record: I love Whole Lot Of Leaving... just not alongside What About Now, Because We Can, Crash, Born To Follow etc...

Because it what people love to do, they will wait until a concert is being streamed, so they can sit on their computer and constanly moan about Jon's voice etc.

Nothing would upset them more if everything was perfect, it actually upsets some people on here when you say you enjoyed something they do! really irrates them to the point where they tell you that you have no idea what your on about and can't possibly enjoy what your hearing!

Proof of this is when you see people write things like "dont have a go but i liked that song etc"

Its almost like people on here feel they have to apologise when they enjoy something Jovi do.

All very very sad.

Sorry if you felt offended by my post, this kind of "negativity" I'm perfectly ok with, because it's constructive criticism. Of course, like you do, I know that they can do better, and of course I'd love them to, but I'm afraid that's not gonna happen and some people (not you in this case) just seem to want to see the negative side of everything, and that sucks...

Also I don't want to censer or belecture anybody, everyone can do as they please. But just as you have the right to "bitch" about our favorite band, I have the right to "bitch" about certain things on here as well

Excatly. That's what I was talking about and that's what bothers me. Why call yourself a fan (and perhaps even go to shows) if you constantly only look for mistakes, failures, etc. Does that make those people happy? It certainly wouldn't make me...

O come off it - this is the one place people can come and discuss the good and the bad. Fact is no one outside these types of forums gives a crap about trivial things such as Jon's voice, Sambo's disappearance etc. This is a sounding board for fans and thus is conducive to negative comments. Its always going to be more prominent when an average album is supported by an especially mediocre tour.

Ultimately you wouldnt be browsing this place or even posting unless you actually were a fan (except the rare occurrence of a sad twat trolling). I think its good we have a place to go to voice an opinion, be it positive or negative.

I think you'd all be surprised what would happen if they released a quality album and a supported it with a high quality tour.
