I havn't even bought any tour tickets yet ffs.

Capacity wise and not including the factors stated above, of course they could play it. They're playing Slane this summer, that's a bigger gig, as will several other dates be.

Sorry dude, you're way off. Slane is in one country - Ireland. so they are catering for the entire nation so of course they'll get to near capacity. And don't come back with "it's virtually part of the UK", because its not. It's as accessible to the UK as France and Holland is. It's got nothing to do with the UK economy at all either. Bon Jovi will not fill the Olympic Stadium. Fact. It's 100% to do with 2 factors:

1. Bon Jovi are playing numberous dates on one tiny island nation. Therefore people aren't going to not go to a concert elsewhere in the UK because Bon Jovi are going to try and ambitiously fill a massive stadium in Newsham.

2. They ain't that fashionable anymore.

As part of a festival Bon Jovi will definitely play Olympic Stadium, but they will never do it on their own. I will publically declare my Shitness if they prove me wrong

Why is it such a stretch? They have played that capacity venue in London several times. If it's the first gig at the stadium it would also create more interest than the average gig.

Look, I'll be the proudest fan out there if I'm proved wrong. They've filled out big Stadiums in their prime, yeah. But not now. Perhaps if they were just going to do 1 night at the Olympic Stadium without all the other UK shows then they may sell out 80,000. But Twickenham in 2006 was way under capacity in the same circumstances. They could have filled 75,000 there easy. 7 years on our favourite band just arent that relevant anymore.

Sorry dude, you're way off. Plus your point of Slane/Ireland is irrelevant, as almost twice the amount of people live in London alone than the whole island of Ireland combined. And what are you talking about the UK, I never implied it was, so that's irrelevant again. I was just saying that venue/capacity wise, it is not a stretch in the slightest, except maybe for the circumstances that I mentioned.
Even on the LH tour, yes both Twickers nights were undersold, but if they had combined them into one show on a Saturday night that venue would have easily been closer to capacity at 55-60,000. The demand is still there, just a bit of over saturation in this market added to the economic climate, might make it that bit harder. With me being an example, I havn't bought any tickets yet either..not feeling the excitement at the moment.

I know they'll be in Germany Jan 26 so I assume they'll do some promo around Europe then too.

Maybe a few TV and radio spots that Jon had to miss due to Sandy and him returning home. Can't see there being anything too exciting, but then again they could do another one off promo show (they're doing one in Germany soon). They need to start drumming up some interest with this new tour/record or it may pass some people by.

I'm sure the capacity will be more around the 40,000-50,000 mark than the 80,000 mark in its new configuration. Plus, the novelty of going to a gig there, plus the fact that Jovi are still a very good sell based on their back catalogue. Their new stuff may not be relevant, but as a touring act with a reasonably priced ticket structure and decent promo, they would have no probs selling it out

Yeah they would sell 80,000 with the latter of what you just said about price structure and promo. But it's Bon Jovi management. They don't do cheap. And it's the Olympic Stadium so expect sky rocket prices
