The ticket I had for Manchester was GC and I got it 2 weeks before the show. All they do is put more tickets on sale by making the GC bigger. There werent any left for Manc in April but by the end of May strangely more appeared on Ticketmaster.

I generally get a ticket when they go on sale because of where the concert is, if I have to travel I can save for other things. If I have the money I'll get a decent ticket because they usually sell out first.

I do understand what you are saying, though. If you can wait and maybe even get a price drop, why not? However, it's always nice to know you have your ticket booked.

That's great if it happens but you can't guarentee you will get a GC ticket, hence the need for people to rush out to get one on first sale.

i got FC GC tickets a month before my Barcelona & SanSe shows last year, when these tickets had been sold out since November. at face value and without looking too hard. i didn't even have to be a FC member. regular GC tickets were even easier to find. i do understand though most people want to secure a ticket asap, especially when there's travel arrangement to be made.

the truth is though, there's no way someone can guarantee they'll attend a show so far down the line. stuff happens. we're talking about thousands of people who buy tickets. some of these people plan on going but won't be able to for some reason.

you obviously need to be careful, it's not the same buying a ticket off someone you don't know or off a trusted ticket website. pay attention, ask questions and you'll be fine. you'll be able to get *any* sort of ticket (not package) relatively close to the day of the shows.
