I used to be able to stand for a whole show; now I can't without aggravating an old foot injury.

Another friend of mine has (invisible) chronic illnesses; she often has to sit and has trouble walking without assistance (but is always being accused of "faking it for attention" because she's so young).

And others might just be getting on a bit in age or whatever.

Doesn't mean we have less of a right to be at a rock concert.
I think the problem is with the layout of the arenas. As far as I know, they have seats on the "floor" (is that the right word for it? I mean the area before the stage, where no steps are going up and it's just flat), or is that only the case for some? All concerts I've been to only had seats everywhere except the "floor", so that people could/had to stand there, and could sit on the seats, if they had booked some.

People with seats standing up is another thing. There you have to come to some sort of agreement with your neighbors, depending on how steep the steps from row to row are, etc.
