Gives me some hope. I never had a problem with Phil X's playing ability, it was his tone. Bon Jovi is a specific sound and that is due to the bluesy nature of Richie's playing. That was sadly missing on the '13 tour. Hopefully bringing in this guy, who the article say has blues influences, will help bring back some of that original tone to the songs.

Would also be great to give them both some spotlight on certain songs (KTF for example) to make the shows feel a little more fluid and in the moment. My main criticism of the last tour was everything felt by the numbers and very safe.

It could be that Bobby's not available right now for this tour and he will rejoin them for the next tour, it could be that his son is sick. Even if he comes back, I'm hoping this guy (if he's good) will stick around.
