Matt has his own YT channel (MOB on TV) and he's just RT/FB'ed this 3-month-old vid:

I dug a bit and someone tweeted about this as early as August 30th.

Think the title to this thread should be changed to 'Matt O'Ree replaces Bobby Banidera' or something? Probably just gives people a bit more of a heads up.

Not really listened to this guy but I'm glad Bobby is no longer there. Or certainly not for now.

Only thing I'm worried about is IF they play 'That's What The Water Made Me', can this new guy use that mint aero chocolate bar thing that Bobby uses for that song?

Agree...I had no desire to read this based on the title... I found out through another source so the title should be changed.

I mean it's not that hard of a device to use, it just vibrates the strings, you're not doing much else differently.

BTW, if you guys read the first page of the thread, you may not understand the confusion. It was due to the first version of the articles which didn't mention Bobby but Phil so we were wondering whether it was true that Matt O'Ree had been hired to replace Phil X or if it was just a hoax.

Awfully sudden, though -- three days before the first gig? Did Bobby know about this? Hope O'Ree gets his passport in time!

On the last solo appearance Jon stated that they were going to do some rehearsals with the band the next day. They most likely wanted to find out whether the chemistry between Matt and the rest of the band works for doing live shows. That's why this message may have been held back that long.

After all Bobby was just a guest musician. So actually there's no need to make an official statement at all because it's no big deal for anybody besides a handful of die-hards
