Bon Jovi and MJ were in Japan at the end of the SWW tour. According to Francis BJ had floor 13, MJ floor 14 of the same hotel. Apparently MJ said he'd join Bon Jovi onstage on the last night at the Budokan - just a verbal agreement. An hour before the show takes place, despite security and backstage arrangements in place, MJ pulls out. Jon=gutted. After the gig they go out to party and returning to the hotel at 2am 'boisterous and still pissed off at Michael Jackson'...

Perhaps a cover of Biffy Clyro's "Bubbles"?
So, looks like Jon did like Michael Jackson in the eighties, but after Jackson pulled out of showing up he changed his mind. That sounds like Jon again!

Salaam Aleikum,

Likewise friend, Likewise.

And if true that story makes sense and does sound like our Jonny boy. A shame the duet never happened though; the pairing of JBJ and Michael Jackson on a song has always been a musical fantasy of mine. Their voices would have worked quite well together.

Maybe it'll be an MJ number in the middle of Bad Medicine tonight? I mean, they could surprise Jon with the riff from Beat It and expect him to sing it, but having seen the auto-cue on Weds have the lyrics to Hot Legs, it's obviously not very 'spontaneous'.

Oh - hi btw - newbie 'n all that

Seriously, who cares? I'm more interested in what Bon Jovi is going to play tonight rather than what if anything is said by Jon.

Plenty of other people will have something to day about his death anyway.

I don't think the Japan story is the full picture. I've heard Jon talk about meeting MJ in Japan and how he was thrilled about it (on audio tape). He didn't have anything negative to say about the experience afterward. The first time he came across as negative toward MJ was after the Brit Awards in 1996 when he said he was going to bring Jesse to the ceremony but wasn't sure he would be safe backstage.

They played the Last Night during their Heath Ledger tribute too. Coincidence?

Well they didnt mention him at all.

They didnt need to mention him, it would have been appropriate given the day and the place to maybe have a little nod to him music-wise but not necessarily and I wouldnt have swapped the jukebox song we got last night.
