Default Milton Keynes Sunday maybe this is why they were not happy

I think the main problem with Milton Keynes Sunday was Jon was disappointed with the crowd reaction and that had a knock on effect for the Hull show when the stadium was not sold out.

Everyone thought Milton Keynes Sunday was great and it was a fantastic show and I have seen them at Milton Keynes 4 times before (1989, 1993, 1996 and 2001) but you could tell they wanted a better reaction from the crowd (more like the reaction they had on Saturday) maybe they were filming for a live DVD and Jon could tell that apart from the inner Gold/Fan Club circle a lot of the people at the sides and back didn’t know the newer songs and just stood there, (but to be honest there were sound regulators at the back of the bowl making sure it wasn’t too loud for the local people living nearby so you couldn’t really hear it that well back there) Check out Jon changing the words in The Last Man Standing to "the magic wasn't here tonight" and the "thanks for coming" he said at the end of the gig instead of "you've been great, thanks for coming" I kid you not.

I guess if the rumours were true and they had hired a professional film crew to film that night instead of Saturday you would be a bit pissed off if the crowd weren't as crazy as the night before, add to this the fact that a couple of nights later they played Hull and it was a half empty stadium and being tired from so many shows in a week then you have a rational reason for them being a bit miffed!

Hull was just one gig too many and only went on sale a couple of months ago when most of the general public already had tickets for lots of the other shows.

Lets hope if they do only play one UK show next year its Wembley Stadium and not part of a tour but just a huge one off spectacular gig to open Wembley.

Everyone has bad days, maybe they will right a song about it one day!

I was on the stayed up on the banks on saturday and soaked up the atmosphere. Looking down on the Gold circle from the banks on saturday, it seemed pretty rowdy (to say the least!!) as it did when i was in the GC on sunday. However i thought every time i looked back at the banks on sunday, the crowd seemed far more up for it than saturday. Louder na na naas in BTBMB, louder wo oh ohs in IBTFY, more hands being raised during the alrights in Who says.., more hands raised in Raise your hands and a very, very loud singalong to Prayer and Wanted.

hull was far from 'half-empty'. a couple of sections were completely empty but they were never on the original ticketmaster chart anyyway. the gold circle was crammed tighter than i've ever seen it....there were a hell of a lot of £60's floating around that show.

I have to agree there!! I've got a video clip on my mobile phone of IBTFY. Its just the crowd singing the woah oh ohs, and richie says "one more time, real loud!". I think the speakers on my phone nearly exploded!
