I just think Jon's really into this new music... It's fitting for this new band and his now voice works with well these songs live... Aside from that, he needs to work out his old hits...

As the tour rolls on, I bet we'll get different album cuts. I have a feeling songs like Always, BOR, DC, will get a one time appearance where Jon will crank out the easy verses and the crowd / band will cover the high notes & choruses.
Always could work well with Everett backing Jon up on the high notes and Jon doing a Steven Tyler and dropping it an octave. There's different routes they could take with the ballads, I'm excited for the tour....

I think we'll get a one time shot of a lot of songs... And then if Jon pulls them off, they'll repeat

From It's my Life onwards it's a pretty good setlist. Same old same old, but they are great songs. Actually the only two songs that I think that should not be there are Who Says (overplayed to death) and Working Man, which is a turd. However, if Jon is throwing Working Man in he might be throwing some more album tracks in, which will keep the diehards happy. Compared to the opening night of the BWC tour I think this is much better.

As for songs like Dry County, always, hey god and so on ... They are completely out of reach for Jon nowadays ... don't think we will see them being played again, unless he decides to butcher them again.

So I take it this show doesn't count as 1 of the shows we're getting in Pro??? Anyone notice professional cameras ?

Why should they have Pro cameras? More than stage cameras won't be used on tour in my opinion, unless they go for a full release.
If you're talking about them releasing the shows afterwards - that seems to only be included in the VIP package and will be an audio recording, not a Pro Shot video.

There were cameras moving during Phil's second solo in KTF.

Sounded fine... it's these types of amateur vids that really showcase how it is being there in person and how a lot of the vocal issues are masked...

I could take a whole concert of that... it's not painful and enjoyable... so glad i got my Philly and MSG tickets...

No YGLABN on the second spot?? Nobody knew how to take him to the C or what?

Actually THINFS and KO go pretty well together. THINFS works fine as an opener and was pretty solid, the first time I've liked it live. Things are looking good for the new album, songs are strong, work great live and for the first time since the HAND tour Jon seems to believe in them and make an extra effort to sell them. This is all I hoped for so count me in.

On the other hand, I asked the gods to make them drop BWC and WAN forever and ever (well, everything from WAN except TWTWMM, and half of TC and 80% of LH...) and give us WDR instead and they listened to me... but felt like throwing in Follow and Work For The Working Meeeeeiiieeeen for good measure. Sweet

The rest of the setlist, well, I know it's a promo thing but judging by how dreadful LOAP sounded I doubt many of my faves will ever make a comeback. We are stuck with the easy hits (bar the couple inevitable ones that Jon will butcher every night) and the LH tour basic setlist. The saving grace is that we have an excellent album this time and I have the feeling the new songs won't get dropped so quickly, but still... so many turds in there. I'm glad there's still no European dates, I wouldn't pay big bucks to see this. While I'm pretty excited to see how it goes and I'm sure I'll enjoy a tour for a change, I don't see how Jon will sing the difficult songs. I just can't see it. He sounds perfect to my ears after the atrocious uber nasal years, but I can see why people complain. He still sounds weak and most of the back catalog need the extra punch to work live.

But the band was brilliant and Jon is getting there in terms of stage presence. If he puts his heart on it, shows will go from a 6 like this one to an easy 8, vocals aside.

So you don't think that they will sell those concerts to the general concertgoer? Only the VIP packages will get them? I sure hope that's not the case but I guess it could be.
