Jon has the flu. Source: Montreal Gazette, April 4

Not an April Fools Joke.

Quite an unpleasant situation. Seems like a deja vu from Jon's bronchitis infection last year which cut the Pittsburg show short and postponed the MSG dates. As a result, a lot of people from all over the world, who had paid a fortune to fly over to NY just for these shows, had to go home empty-handed because they couldn't afford to prolong their stay. I really hope there are no such cases this time around but you never know. Anyway, wishing Jon and the whole team a speedy recovery.

So Jon has the flu for several years now, I hope his voice recovers this time.

Wow - this is a band that had the reputation of never cancelling a show. It appears to be a yearly thing now as Thierry said.

I was saying the same to my coworker who goes to shows with me. Jon has never canceled a show due to his personal illness before last year. The band tweet said band and crew is affected.

With his former voice he probably was able to get away with a flu and still perform on a less powerful level.
But with his voice being shot to pieces nowadays there's nothing left to hold on to I guess.

Good.

I feel bad for those who traveled there, but that's absolutely the right thing to do.

I'll say the same thing I said a year ago - if he had this mindset for most of his career, maybe Jon would have more voice left.

Sad for the fans, and I'm starting to be nervous for the RNRHOF.
Wishing band and crew a speedy and good recovery!

If it’s proper flu you can’t even get out of bed so the state of his voice is probably not even in his thinking.
I guess this is just a sign of everybody getting older - you are more likely to pick up bugs and things.
