I think Jon is someone that plays the concert anyways if the sickness lasts too long.

Sounds like they were careless about making sure everybody had their flu shots. When I hadn't gotten around to getting my shot as of late February, I was going to skip it this year. Then one of my classmates mentioned that she'd just gotten over it, I "got 'er done" within two days -- And of course, just this past weekend, a mild 48-hour bug came to visit!

P.S. If you're over 50, also get a shingles (zoster) vaccination, especially if you remember having had chicken pox (varicella).

I had the flu shot. I also had the flu twice (October and December) and what must have been the flu on steroids in August. There are so many strains, the shot is a crapshoot. They vaccinate for what they predict will be the most active strains. One year I got the shot and later tested for Type A and B at the same time. I told the doctor I was an over-achiever. Haha.

In other words, the shot is not really all that effective.

And the strain that's going around this year is particularly virulent, not scheduled to back down until May. I'm hoping that Tico hasn't got it, as sixtysomethings are particularly vulnerable.

Same for Hugh, who is nearing 70
