Not a chance.
Exactly. People are being very understanding that Jon is sick, and I'm glad they are. But they have every right to be pissed off that he is effectively saying Denver fans are worth less than NYC fans.

So you know all the logistics of why Denver was cancelled? No, you don't. Coordinating everything has to be complicated. It's not like arenas sit empty waiting for Bon Jovi to show up. I believe if you added it up, there would be less than 10 shows cancelled in their career. Even 10 seems a high estimate. None of these decisions were made lightly. That's something you can be sure of.

Yep. That's the whole issue. I get it's a logistical nightmare to play Denver as well as MSG on such a tight schedule. But cancelling Denver is just wrong. It sends a clear message - regardless of a PR apology.

I understand a lot more than you think I do. I just missed a week and a half of work because I had bronchitis. So I totally understand the reason for canceling MSG. That's NOT the problem, rosa3.

It's the re-scheduling of those shows on dates that made it necessary for him to cancel yet another show that I don't understand. I'm fine with him canceling MSG. I agree 150% that his health should come first. But how does his health justify canceling the re-scheduled DENVER show (ONE performance over a 3-day period) so he can replace it with MSG (TWO performances over the same 3-day period)? That's MORE work, not less. How does THAT help him recover?

I freely admit that I know nothing about the logistics of touring. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there was no logistical way to do MSG-Denver-MSG over a 72-hour period. Not unless Jon planned to fly the stage, the crew, and the band back and forth across country. It's a 25-hour road trip, one way. Jon knew, before he rescheduled MSG for those dates, that it meant he'd have to ax Denver.

It wasn't beyond his control. It may have been a difficult choice to make, but it was still his choice. And he chose a preferred venue over honoring his previous commitment. Even he didn't try to put a different spin on it. I'll give him credit for that.

It once again challenges my understanding of how Jon defines integrity, and I admit I'm disappointed by his decision; but I'm not going to let one event, or even a series of events, cause me to totally lose respect for Jon, any more than I think people should have allowed one event to cause them to lose all respect for Richie. They have both given us many good years and they both, for the most part, have stood by their convictions and have been good honorable men, as far as we know, despite their occasional lapses.

That doesn't mean those lapses don't piss me off at times, but it also doesn't mean that I have to lose all respect for them either.

Like I've said before, I work with behavioral kids; and they act out every minute of every day. But I still love them and expect the best from them - every minute of every day.

As far as I'm concerned, it's no different with any of the other people I have invited into my life. None of us is perfect, and that includes Jon and Richie.

Well put. It's clearly a difficult decision which I don't doubt has many constraints. MSG may have only been available on those dates. As its the end of the tour, it's quite likely the crews contracts have finished so they couldn't play a later date even if it was available.

Someone was always going to lose out as soon as those were the MSG dates and sadly it was Denver. What Rosa doesn't seem to be able to comprehend is that fans do have a right to be pissed off. Yes, it may be the right decision financially and logistically for the band and crew, but not for those fans who have shelled out already and can't get refunds - or were simply looking forward to their only show. Yes, being angry doesn't change anything, but you can't always just go "Poor Jon". What about Poor Adam for example? Jon isn't losing out, he's got a week off sick to recover and will hopefully be able to give 2 great shows at MSG. Adam and many others will have missed a gig and lost out on non-refundable hotel/air fare/holiday time etc.. Let people vent, stop shutting them down when they have valid gripes.

Although I am chuckling at the notion that Jon is not getting the rest he deserves because he was up all night fretting and writing that apology template.

I'm not digging Jon/the band out - as I pointed out above it's a shitty decision that someone was always going to lose out on. But don't confuse it with not wishing Jon better or it even being part of that. This was a business decision and whilst it may be the right one, people have a right to be disappointed and articulate that here on a message board.

I don't know if anyone here read in an earlier post, or maybe it was on BJ facebook, the reason why the Denver show was cancelled, according to what this person said, is because there was no way the tour trucks that carry all of the stage equipment, gear, lighting, etc was gonna make it on time from NYC to Denver, then come back to NYC for the 2nd show, and its not fair for the road crew to travel all those miles back and forth from Denver to NYC, it would be a nightmare to do, and with unpredicatble weather right now, there could be delays. So, no matter how much fans are angry right now, and I understand, but being angry won't solve the problem, thats life, simple as that, things happen that we can't control, even Bon Jovi can't control everything his way, things just happen, I don't understand why people here feel that by being angry is gonna help? I understand to want to vent out fustration, and thats ok, its good, its healthy, but just going it over and over again isn't gonna change the situation.
My god you keep blindly missing the whole point and are beyond reasoning with

Denver's cancellation sucks, but honestly, if I were in Jon's shoes, I would do exactly the same. MSG is too important to cancel.

Now, after Denver was postponed and now it's canceled, Jon should keep this in mind for the future, never disappoint Denver again, never!

And/or add in a handful of dates for August since that lone show seems weird, and include Denver in it.

Shouldn't we be getting leg 2 details by now? I could have swore they said leg 2 would be late this summer and fall and overseas in 2018...maybe they gave up on this tour already.
