Looking at the prices for this tour, i find it hard to believe that ANYONE would spend their hard earned money on going see Jon shake his backside and nothing else!
Maybe there is too many kids following the band lately, and are unable to express themselves without screaming. But without them, maybe the band would be going the same way as all the other 80's bands, that are hard to pick up on a radar.
Enjoy the fact the band are still around, and still able to entertain thousands of people night after night. And remember you got 3 hours worth of Bon Jovi for your money, other people won't be so lucky!

Bloody hell. Let people enjoy the show in their own way. I remember just the other day Mr McRock there was telling us that although he didn't enjoy it in the same way that most of us did, didn't mean he enjoyed it any less, or was any less a fan. Same in this case. I'd imagine Jon does stuff like that because he know it gets the crowd going

Keep On Rockin'

Well take away that '80%' of the crowd and Bon Jovi can no longer peform these big shows. They won't be able to perform in big stadiums which produce the amazing atmosphere most of you love. Instead they'll be performing in very small little arenas. Do you want that?

And if they lose 80% of their fans, then their tours will be about 4 times shorter, so you won't all be able to go on your long run of shows. Some of you I see have been going to 5 or 6 shows in Europe. Well if you take away that 80% then they probably won't play more than 5 shows in Europe because their won't be enough people to see them!

The people on this message board are the serious fans, the people who own every album and are fanatical. But it'd be impossible to have a massive tour like the Bounce Tour without these general fans. I like Oasis, but if I go to one of their concerts I only own 2 of their albums. Doesn't mean I can't go and enjoy myself. Same with Nickelback, or Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

So while you may not like those '80%', without them you wouldn't have all the big shows you have today, and there wouldn't even be as many of the shows.

And then you'll all start complaining that they don't do enough for the fans.

the positive thing is the band, the music(except wild in the streets). The negative thing: the people, the crowd. I'll explain: We had thousends of discussions about Bj becoming a pop act and all that stuff and I can tell you now: they were senseless, all of them. The band isn't the problem, they prooft last night that they're still a rock band, which know how to perform perfect(except Wild in the Streets). But the crowd...OMG. One line in the song " idiots are taken over" on the current NoFX album says "ignorance is celebrated" and that's exactly what happened yesterday. Before I go on I'll tell you some bits from last night. What do think, at which point of the show the crowd reacts the most? What do you think was happening on stage when the biggest reaction came from the crowd? I think some of you guess right(sadly): The biggest reaction came as you could see on the screen Jon shaking his ass .
Next thing: Do you think "Something to believe in" is a dark or at least a sad song? During that song a wave goes through the stadium(I don't know if I find the right words in ENglish, I hope you know what I mean) and during TD the people danced as if it isn't a sad song but a kind of a dance hall song instead.
The only thing that has to happen to get the crowd screaming was to show up Jons face on the screen, nothing more.
I don't know what you think about those things but I think this current situation is impossible, absolutely inacceptable. To come back to the point: The band isn't the problem, they ain't a pop band, they ain't a boy band. But we have a pop-crowd, a boy-band crowd in the arenas and in the stadiums. I mean come to think about these things: they don't care about the music all they want to see is Jon shaking his **** ass. Shall I tell you what I did during the concert? Nothing, absolutely nothing! WHy? Sure it was probably one of the best BJ shows ever and definately the best I've seen so far(except Wild in the streets) but I just don't want to fratenize with the people around. I really felt strange there. I can't fell any earnestness withhin this crowd. All I saw were stupid people who just want to sream and clap their hands like stupid machines. Sometimes I felt like even if the guys come on the stage and say "we hate you all, you're the biggest ****** we've ever seen" they would scream too.
I konw that some of you can't stand my Bruce Springsteen - Bon Jovi comparisons but 'ill do another anyway: 3 days before Bruce was in the same stadium and within this crowd I felt home, home and comfortable and had one of the best nights ever. not because Bruce and E-street were better than BJ,no I would say both were equal but the crowd was different. Within the Springsteen crowd you could feel earnestness towards the music and the band. In the Bj crowd I just felt strange(OMG now my nickname finally makes sense).
It's a sad fact but you could take 80 % percent of a BJ crowd, put it into one of those popidol/popstar concerts and nobody would recognize it because it's the same level.
On the one hand I think this is really sad because the band performed **** great last night and deserves a much better and much mature crowd that they have right now but on the other hand is this just the consquence of the last 3 years.
But there are some things I've learned on this Friday night. one of them:
Every female BJ-fan is at least suspicious!!! Sorry I know this is really generalizing but from this day I don't believe any female that she likes Bj because of the music. The concert last night was too traumatic.

To bring it to an end: as long as nothing dramatic within the composition of the audiences at a BJ show changes, I won't visit any because I don't have to pay 42 Eur to ruin my evening.
We really have a great problem here. As long as BJ have this kind of fans nobody would take them for serious and they won't get any respect for their work.
It's sad that I write this now and not yesterday because during the day a lot of things I wanted to express slipped out of my mind.
I'm tired now so I close with two quotes: the first is from Manowar and I want to sent out to the kind of "fans" I described above:
Whimps And Posers, Leave The Hall!

and the second one is a derivative of the NoFx song I mentioned above:
the idiots obviously have taken over!

(Oh and if you want to know what the problem with WITS was: instrumental it was perfectly played but Jon squeezed the voclas so much that it killed the power of that song, but fortunately this was the only bad performance on this night.)
What's wrong with having a good time and party at a show? If you don't want this listen to a CD and you don't have the audience partying.

Sorry, but I can't understand you. I'm at a concert to have a good time, to move and sing and not standing or sitting there silent. It was a phantastic show and a great audience.

Jon shaking his eyes ... pretty funny but I honestly don't think the major part are going for that ... Maybe a few ... And people waving and clapping ... Don't know what's wrong with that ... That just means that people are amusing theirselfs and have a good time ... In ostend some people were complaining that the crowd wasn't good enough and you do the other way around ... Well, don't take this as a mad-reply !!! It isn't ... I just don't really got the prob ...

And ow yeah ... All the members of Bon Jovi are older then my dad .... I think you got it

I mean with NO offense but why is your nick Jbjlover87 then?
because I signed up for Backstage when I was like 13 and I needed to come up with a name fast and since my favorite member of Bon Jovi is Jon, i did that and I was born in 87. My name has nothing to do with Jon because of his looks, its more his talent. its just a name, it shouldnt mean anything. I wouldnt be on these boards and listening to Bon Jovi everday if I liked the band because of what Jon looks like.
I could say guys just go to the shows to pick up women. People need to stop focusing on the crowd and start focusing on the band and you will have a much better time. Trust me, when you try and look at whats around you, you will get discouraged sometimes but its the guys and their music that matters, not what everyone else thinks is fun. People enjoy concerts in different ways and thats what makes people different.
and yeah, I really dont think that 80 percent of the crowd is gonna pay 100 dollars for a ticket and then just stare at Jon's butt... please, give people more credit than this. you dont even know 10 percent of them but yet you catagorize them.
I dont know, thats just my opinion. I try to enjoy the guys while they are here and make the 100 dollars I spent on my ticket worth it.

There was a lot of guys in the pit in Munich in and a few in the front row too! They enjoyed the show as much as the girls!!! Just because some girls screamed when Jon shook his ass?? so what?!!! that makes up part of the show! there is more to a great rock concert than rock songs you know,
sure, the setlist and the music is the major part of course, but a little part is also made up of the energy from the crowd and the sexual tension given off by Jon being, well, sexy!!! He has always been like that and he's not gonna change. If you don't like it, stay at home next time!lol
Oh and I bet you guys don't mind it when the blonde, beautiful, big breasted girls are up close on the screens tho!!!!!!!!

If you want to know what a Bon Jovi show is really all about, go and read the short band bio. by Lonn Friend!!!!!
On second thoughts, I have it and I will post it up here later!!!

No, my point was I listen to the music, I don't go for the screaming, and dancing, and swaying e.t.c....

BUT

I'm not saying that's wrong, but what you find is that it's not hapening throughout the show. It's screaming girls, who scream when they play a modern hit, or he winks of shakes his bum. If they were screaming and as excited with other songs then there wouldn't be a problem. The thing is, their reaction is saying to the band "I only want to hear hits and new anthems, and I'm not going to react to anything else", so the band can't play rare songs on a regular basis, because the crowd reaction is so poor.

It makes fans feel alianted because they love the band, they're listening to the music, yet they feel like outsiders where they should feel most accepted
