Just got back from Christchurch and thought id throw my two cents in. Both Sydney shows were amazing. Jon's voice surprised me the most. From the bashing he gets from some people i expected him to be a lot worse than he was.
Ending with I Love this Town was weird, i thought it worked well, but it seemed like it wasn't over. Surely they could have switched It with keep the Faith Or something else that people actually know! I cant really compare the two shows cause they both had some great moments but i will outline my highlights of the two shows. Sydney 21/01/08 Glad All Over - I thought they would open with this song, and i thought it went down really well. Really good opener! Knocking on Heavens Door - Crowd loved this and was very loud Blaze Of Glory - Could hardly hear Jon during the chorus cause the crowd were so loud, Jon sounded Great as well (When I Could Hear Him), didn't expect to hear this song Blood On Blood - One Of My Faves In These Arms - Crowd was very loud during this song These Days - Richie was amazing I'll Be There For You - Did not expect to hear Jon sing this, and it was great Bed Of Roses - yes it was the TLFR version, but it was great to hear any version of this song Livin' On A Prayer - Cause it's Prayer I'd Die For You - Didn't expect to hear it Hallelujah - Jon sounded Amazing Sydney 22/01/08 Great Balls Of Fire - Was a fun song to open with, everyone was singing Wild In The Streets - Got the crowd going, was cool to see everyone clapping to the beat Story Of My Life - i really wanted to hear this one live, dunno why, but it was good I'll Be There For You - Richie Is A God Saturday Night - I really wanted to hear this song and the acoustic version was a pleasant surprise! Never Say Goodbye - I didn't see this coming, i think i was the only person in my section singing, lol Blood On Blood - Was awesome, had the acoustic intro like in the 90's I'll Sleep When I'm Dead - very high energy, was funny to see Richie flirt with Lorenza rather than play the solo, when they broke into Land Of 1000 Dances, i thought they were playing a Wiggles song. Sorry about the length of this and the lack of decent review, lol
